Late last night as I was doing a mad sprint out to get the duct tape from one of the vehicles (so I could take a deep bath;) )I chanced to look up (I don't usually go out at night cause I'm scared of the Banshee) and stopped dead in my tracks..."Ooooohhh!!" on both sides of the driveway and all the way up to the tops of the trees, mingling in with the brightly shining stars were all these lightening bugs! I just stood there and cooed, it was so enchanting, wow, I have'nt seen them like that since I was a kid!! It was such a beautiful scene...had to share it with somebody!

Then I ran back inside and told the kids:) Virginia came back out with me and we chased fireflies...those suckers can move! Bumped into a few but never caught any, We might try again tonight, Gini really wants to see them up close. She is facinated with 'em.

How neat to see them moving through the woods and the tree tops...musta had some residual hallucinogenics in my system 'cause I was getting trails, lol.

Fireflies!! They be cool! If you can get one in a Mason jar, you can watch it up close and personal. Just make sure not to tighten the lid too much.:sunglasse

You've never seen Bert singing in the bath on Sesame Street - "Rubber Duct, Duct,Duct, Rubber Duct.......................:D

I've been examined, and found wanting, but the upside is that I've got a couple days of me and MMM time to unwind in and do some relationship mending - so guess what, I've popped into the forums.

We get glow-worms in the west side of England - nothing round here - they fly silently round like Tinkerbell in Peter Pan - it's the sort of stuff that makes you realise how legends and stories get started. Only seen them a few times, but its always magical. Last time we were on holiday in Devon, we'd been told that a certain times in the evening it was possible to see wild otters playing with their kits on the local estuary. We only had one baby Moomin at the time, and we didn't stand a chance cause once he spotted the glow-worms he started chasing round after them and did a passable impression of a stampeding herd of rhinoceri!

There is something that lives in our woods...makes this gawd aweful sound...and one time it was late and I was getting something I'd forgotten out of my car, over at my parents house (right next door) and the thing flew out of the trees and shoved me. I could'nt see it, but I sure felt it...which is why I rarely go out by myself at night here.

Another time it was new years 2000 and we had some friends down from Pa., it musta been two~three in the morning and I was taking my friend Susan out to the field on the other side of the woods (this was before I was scared to go out) to see the stars...and we are out in the middle of the field thinking this is really neat, when I saw it coming through the trees! It was bearing down on us and We both freaked out!! I took her hand and we started running, lol, she swears to this day that we were flying when she tells the story. Says her feet were'nt even on the ground. She has really bad asthma too and she says she can't run...but did'nt even think about that...we just had to get back before that thing got us!

Don't know what it is, but we call it a b...anshee cause it's loud and it flies.

...keeps the kids from wandering off too;)

heeh just saw mmp posted!!

yay spending quality time with us!!

Never seen a glow worm before...can't imagine what they do...

lol, and then Nirgal:D duct tape is for the overflo drain...that thing sucks all the fun outta bath time and I'm left with half a tub full of water....well, no more!! We're livin' on the edge now!!

Would you like to know things? Things like: what Mike has eaten recently, or which bones he has broken lately, or if a certain ointment is worth buying? Then you should most likely sign up for BansheeWerks.com updates. You'll get all of the above and more, on an almost certainly irregular basis. We won't share your email address with nobody, nowhere, no how.

Heehee I loove this!
What a fun place...I'm signing up.

To the light-house was my tag line in the old forum, (sniff, sniff)

And if it's not phallic, ( and bear in mind they are usually staffed by discharged seamen), why are they covered in cream!;)

So the field has its very own mystery beast - don't worry it will probably turn out to be the fun-fair janitor who needs to scare everyone off in order to hunt for the ancient Indian burial ground treasure. Me and Scooby will just check out the cream-corn machine, Nirgals just parking the Mystery Machine...
