I live in a place (Los Angeles) that has pretty near every single cuisine under the sun. Here's the question. If you're taking someone out to a resaurant and that person also is from a place (San Francisco) that sports every cuisine under the sun, what would you recommend?
Here are some of my thoughts :
Jewish-style (Kosher doesn't exist much anymore)
Persian
Ethiopian
Tibetan
Jamaican
Cuban
Peruvian
Soul
Any thoughts? Any additions?
Oh, btw, there are also a few decent vegetarian spots here too :)

Well, I'd ask the person what kind of food they prefer or what their favorite foods are (if you want the location to be a surprise). That way you can decide if they like spicy, sweet, savory, etc. Personally I'd be happy to be taken to anything unique, as opposed to Chinese, Japanese, Mexican (does mexican even count as foreign food anymore?).
If the person likes comfort foods, then the Jewish or Soul food might be good choices. If they like more exotic cuisine, try African or Mediterranian maybe.
Good luck on your date ;)

I grew up in the Northeastern part of the country. Trust me, Mexican is about as exotic there as Alaskan cuisine is in Boca Raton!

And that concept to me is just STRANGE. I think we've got more mexican and chinese places around here than all the fast food joints combined.
So did you take her out this weekend? Tell me tell me ;)

He came and went. For dinner the first night he wanted a nice/good Italian restaurant and for the second night he wanted a Jewish style deli !
