So I'm woken up by my mom Saturday morning and she tells me to go outside and help my dad in the garden. So of course I get outta bed and put some shoes on and I grab a rake from the garage. I'm raking the soil when I hear the most terrifying words come from my dads mouth. "We need to have a talk." He then proceeded to tell me that he was moving my car that morning, and he found something "that didn't quite fit with the car". Immediately, my heart sunk in my chest as I knew what had been found, (one of my bowls, or so I thought). He then proceeded to tell me about the "gateway drug theory"(which of course we know that theory only accounts for about 25% of marijuana users, if that. After a few more radical policeman marijuana statistics were thrown at me, (including the one that says marijuana contains 20 times more tar and nicotine than cigarettes. nicotine, HA!) He dropped the "I'm not angry, I'm just dissapointed." bomb on me. He told me he wasnt going to tell my mom, (THANK GOD!) and then asked me how often I smoke. I wasnt going to tell my retired police chief dad that I smoke several times every day, so I told him once or twice a week. STUPID!!! My dad, never having been associated with marijuana, except ARRESTING THOSE WITH IT, thought that once or twice a week was "using" not recreational use. It was too much for him. Overall the entire confrontation went better than I ever imagined, his concerns were about smoking and driving, and me being arrested, and those are concerns I appreciate him having, as long as he doesnt try to send me to a drug rehab clinic or something, cause I've had friends been send to classes (yeah, for pot). Well, saturday night I get into my car, and find what my dad found, an empty baggie full of stems and seeds stuck in the passenger seat door handle. I noticed my bowl was missing from where I thought I had left it, and I figured it was confiscated, and i wondered why he didn't take the baggie, but took the bowl. After hanging out with some of my Frat brothers, I went to bed and reached into my overnight bag and pulled out the pipe I thought was confiscated!!! It turned out all my dad found was the empty bag my buddy had left in the car. Dumbass. Really, I was dumb too for not checking the car before I left, but I wouldnt leave a bag in anyone elses car! So the biggest change that has taken place is that my dad knows I smoke pot, I got off really damn easy with this one, and life should continue to go alright, even though I have to lay low until I go back to school in the fall semester. Peace!
