i love the first one...gene wilder is awesome, but i'm sure johnny depp can be just as good, and the factory can only be crazier, especially with Burton involved

Now I´ve seen both movies on 2C-E... I must admit, that the 1971 movie is better by far. I´m almost a little disappointed by Tim Burton, he tried his best, but he got lost in too many details. And the 71 movie creates some really great psychedelic effects with only few tech...

And imho, Johnny Depp is too young for Willy Wonka.

Well, the original plan for goin to see that movie was shrooms (as the popular choice on here seems to be) but there were no shrooms to be found the weekend it came out :( So me n my friends smoked quite a lotta weed n then I added my own touch by takin a few vicoden. And for anyone who hasnt seen it, its a FUCKING AWESOME MOVIE! With or without drugs. I was pretty fucked up but I could def tell that I woulda loved it even if I was straight. I loved every second of it. However the Oompa Loompas dissappointed me. They shoulda stuck with the old songs n not tried to be so "hip". haha they were almost acting as though they were in a rap video. And I say they as if there were more than one guy playin the Oompa Loompas. But that kinda made me laugh. Anyway, it was a great movie. Johnny Depp did an amazing performance, as always. Speakin of Johnny Depps amazing performances, I just watched Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (for like the 20th time). haha that movie will NEVER get old. gotta be one of my favorites. whoops i totally just changed the subject there....

and for the rest, i saw Charlie and the chocolate factory this weeken after smoking a few budds and the movie was just great. my and friend sat there giggeling with all the little kids and their parents.=)

I haven't seen the new one, but I suspect that the original is better. The scene on the original when they are on the boat ride is amazing when you're tripping. And the oompa loompas are trippy as hell when thay're singing thier songs and dancing. I still want to see the new one, but only if I'm tripping.

Afaik, the only drug that Roald Dahl, the author of "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", used regularly, was alcohol. Sorry to disappoint you, but the whole story is just a very mean and ironic good night story for (older) kids.
