medievil time...
in japan weaponry was so cool, warriors were trained and dichotomies were clear, everywhere else warfare was so tactical, seiges happened, castles were integral to warfare, it was a wonderful time to be a tactician.....

^ I agree, prehistory is the best, though rather uneventful as history goes. Must have been nice to be so in touch with nature, living out the simple life. That's why I'm so interested in the Native Americans. It was a rich culture but not too complex.
But I do get into the Greek and Roman times, it's interesting to see the similarities between them and our modern way of life. I'm also interested in learning more about the first civilizations, in Mesopotamia. I'm interested in how it all got started, I guess.

Nice forum, hope it grows! The great thing about history, there isnt a time that SOMEthing didnt happen!
Im fond of the ancient times, sumerian, celtic, and egyptian among my faves. For more recent ones, I dig obscure social and political history of the usa. And dont get me started on music and culture of the 60s!

A. they were not cavemans
B. it was not a simple time
i think youre statement undermines prehistoric hunter gathers and you obviously know nothing about it to say such an ignorant thing.

Ancient Greece
The Dark Ages
The Renaissance Period
The Victorian Era
I enjoy all history. The only time period I didn't care much for has to be the dark ages.

i like pretty much all time periods, but i really enjoy learning about the 1850's-1870's here in Missouri. with Jesse James and the split between the north and south during the Civil War, I just love reading about it.
The early Native American times...1600's through 1800's...also the times in the 1800's when there was a lot of open land, rolling prairie, buffalo roaming free. I cry sometimes because this isn't true anymore...the North AMerican continent is so developed, and becoming more so every day. My favorite movies have to do with that time period as well. "Dances With Wolves" is my favorite movie ever, sad as it is in the end, I believe it gives us a good idea of how it used to be before European invaders came to the Americas. How the Indians lived, how they respected the land, and each other.

508Bc ,Kleisthene's has been asked by the Athenian's to develop a new system of government ,one that is Run by the people for the people, as he walk's alone along the pebbled beach not far from the city he gaze's out at the setting sun..clasping a Black and white pebble in each hand, in a moment of "divine inspiration" the Vote become's a reality ,White pebble for yes ,black for no ,Demos (Democracy) is born ,and with it a new ideology.
And yes I realise Solon started the ball rolling year's previous but it was Kleisthenes reform's that made Solon's ideal's a reality.
