The Pixies

I have been listening to Th Pixies a lot recently and have discovered how bloody fantastic they are :) I have been listening to Death to the Pixies :) It is fantastic album with a fantastic title and amazing songs :) Does anyone else think they are as good (or even better) as sliced bread?

:D Bloody fantastic is right! I don't listen to loads of punk or grunge type bands, but it seems The Pixies are one I can always handle hearing. I knew nothing of them until I saw 'Fight Club', then naturally I had to find out who the band playing 'Where Is My Mind?' were.

Aint no where is my mind on the soundtrack, which I figured I'd go for, but I'm pleased to say now I got 'Surfer Rosa' instead :)

Slightly worried that first listen that I maybe just loved the song because of the moment in Fight Club it kicks in. Alas no, once fully absorbed I was lovin' those Pixies. Getting 'Doolittle' made it all the more clear also! Check out both I'd say certainly.

My friend is getting me 'Bossanova' soon. Yay :cool:

The Pixies are probably my second all-time favorate band next to the Beatles... I first got in to them because my gran's ex-husband was in to them, and he left a tape of "Come on Pilgrim" at my grandma's house. I had all of their albums, but somehow I've lost Doolittle and Surfer Rosa!! But I'm going to buy em back cuz they're only £5 in a shop in cambridge.

Btw, I shook Frank Black's hand after a gig! My mate hugged him, so that always makes my story less impressive :(

just a tip...when you first hear bossanova you'll probably hate it...it's very different from the earlier stuff...but give it a few listens...it's well worth it...

i have to say...my favourite pixies album is trompe le monde...and everyone laughs at me when i say that...but it's true...i don't know why...the songs just appeal to me more on that album...every song they made was great.,..but theres something about trompe le monde...
