These poems were inspired by my sweetheart, Matt :-P

HE NEEDED HER, TOO

She cried on your shoulder
You were so happy to hold her
You knew the love that existed
Had been fought for and resisted
But together you won the battle

God knew of her head-aches
And make note of her heart-breaks
He knew her every last need
He knew of upcoming dangers
Encounters with strangers
He knew you'd help her succeed

You held her hand
As you walked through the sand
Feeling so pleasant and free
Isn't life grand
When on love's rock you stand?
I thank God your lucky girl's me

She felt his embrace
As she captured the moment with a smile on her face
Her toes sunk into the cold morning dew
And then it occured in her mind what really was true
Maybe he needed her, too

LOVE SONNET

Love is a rose that we nurture
And it gets beautiful as it grows
Plant a tiny seed, add water
What will evolve, nobody knows

The process may be slow
But patience is they key
With time things start to grow
And can be as beautiful as the sea

Thorns may appear
And take their toll
But when troubles clear
You will feel whole

Love is the seed that together we've planted
I will not hold you back or take you for granted

Your Loving Guidance

I cried on your shoulder
You embraced me with your
Caring arms
Gently kissed my forehead
And made a meaningful promise
With the words
"Everything will be okay."
With your loving guidance
I can face tomorrow's day
Even if there are clouds in the sky

THE GIRL YOU ONCE KNEW

You saw the smile that so often occupied her face
And fell in love with the way her golden hair blew in the wind
She'd sometimes send that loving smile your way
And chills would run down your spine like squirrils
That girl--she'd sing a million chords
And never get one right
But it was beautiful none the less
She'd pick wild flowers from the meadows
As she danced sround so careless
With her dress blowing freely in the Texas breeze
But the flowers were no comparison to her
Even the took second place to her graceful being
She'd place them in her hair
And the vast array of colors were suddenly dull
Her soft voice spoke gently
And was music to your ears
And just as quickly as she came
She disappeared
