just because some people are dirty, doesn't mean that people should have the right to harm a child and remove a part of their child's body because they don't want to teach them proper hygiene.

should we remove the appendix from every baby because it isn't necessary and they could suffer from appendicitis later in life?

thankfully my son's dick and you will most likely have NOTHING to do with each other, so it concerns you nada. which is a point i'd like to make, because my son's dick would have even LESS to do with the government of the country i reside in...so why the fuck are they trying to control this? for many people the decision is not religious in nature. sure it started that way, but people are fucking weird and do weird shit. my dick is snipped, i'm happy it was done, now my son gets one.

i don't think the kid is crying because he's enjoying having someone cut part of his body off, so i think it's pretty fair for me to say that it causes harm.

you're also making a really personal choice for your child at a time when they are unable to give any input into it. it puts them at risk for infection from the procedure (however small, it is a risk - probably more of a risk than from not washing their uncircumcised dick) and prevents them from feeling the full pleasure of sex (which, to me, is a big deal).

edit: i'm not arguing with you, just having a discussion...

it may be personal, but it's how my tribe does. 'full pleasure of sex' well...it's an easy route to teach the little brat that you can't always get what you want and that most of the time others will have it better than you.

like I said. I was raised this way. I am happy it was done. I will teach my son that it's okay to be different and that if your dick is different than others it doesn't make you less of a person. and if you want to cut your kid's dick a little bit when you are a parent, you can do that, too. it doesn't make you a MEAN and EVIL tyrant of a parent.

all in all - this seems like a good idea. to protect children. but what I see is a government that is crossing too many personal boundaries.


also - i am talking about the clinical practice of circumcision near birth. not the ritualistic circumcision of a prepubescent.
