Paving The Way For Big Ag/Pharma....
As growers, my wife and I know a lot of the NorCal growers and have attended many events. We are now involved in a county organization providing resources to MMJ patients since the Fed is shutting down dispensaries in the state. I've been saying for about 3 years now that the way I see it going is that the Fed will begin aggressively enforcing drug policy and then turn around and open the door for Big Ag/Pharma to cash in on a HUGE market. Well....Now this...

I've no doubt that the FDA will approve the drug and thusly allowing governments both Federal and State to completely ban cultivation of MMJ. Patients can now give their money to Big Pharma instead. And if they choose to grow their own? I'm sure their property will be seized and they will be prosecuted. Expect to see some "high profile" busts to ensure that the peasantry is suitably scared.

if the planet suddenly come to a stop. The atmosphere would still be moving, and it would be like a giant sand blaster scoured the surface, all that would be left might be the pyramids...

Cannabis will forever be a free market. Too many people know how to grow it, this would only affect people who don't know how to grow their own. Marijuana can never be patented by pharmaceutical companies. They might try, but i am sure it will fail

Guess you don't know too much about Monsanto, soy beans, and the Supreme Court ruling, eh?
Would you like to know more?

Sure, but what i am saying is with frequent uprisings of protests against like SOPA/PIPA. If it were ever to get to the point of patenting, a lot of people would stand up and try to stop them. I have heard of them patenting soy beans and basically tracking down any other soy bean strains which were not theirs. Correct me if im wrong

Sorry, but as one who is actively "fighting the man", I disagree. Do you really think there's a "bigger" contingent against the government regarding pot as opposed to a crop that feeds the world? No disrespect my friend, but please look at the situation realistically.
Monsanto has not only "patented" soy beans, but corn and wheat as well...all "Round-Up" ready too. They have financially KILLED farmers over it...do you really believe that a grower on 100 acres is going to win against this? It's been my experience going against the county here that pot growers aren't even interested. Sometimes I wonder why I even "fight the fight" when I don't even smoke pot...but it's bigger than a bunch of pot heads that wanna smoke weed and play video games.
Not sure if many will get what I'm putting down her though. If it was just about "pot heads" I'd just as readily let them languish in their own untenable paradigm. This is about allowing for "The People" to choose and determine the life they want to pursue....It's not about "pot" which many fail to even...."get".

I respect that, thanks for shedding some light on the situation. I remember seeing something about the patented crops and its effects, marijuana as a whole should get past the teenage aspect and mature to its benefits as a cash crop. Perhaps you should show us how we can help since you play such an active role. Many of us aren't political activists ya know
