More American soldiers commit suicide than die in combat
For the second year running, the proportion of American soldiers dying at their own hand is greater than military casualities.
This does not include suicides of veterans back home, which accounts for a quarter of the US's 30k suicide figure each year.

Except for Ron Paul, no candidate, unfortunately, grasps the reality of the situation.

Yea I have a friend that is fucked up from it. I could see it happening.
In his case, the command above him knowingly inflicted horrendous mental strain, anguish, trauma, and guilt upon him during/after an extremely traumatic incident. It's like they are fucking animals with no sense of compassion or understanding. Every soldier is a potential victim whether they realize it or not and i'm not talking about dying or getting wounded on the battlefield.

P.T.S.D. is not a frikken joke , it takes years of therapy and even then there is no gaurentees . Angola ended for me in 1983 and i still have nightmares about it as i am sure many others vets have about the wars they fought .But what does the goverment care -disposable assets that all we are .

we have two Iraq vets at Occupy London... both have strong suicidal tendencies, both are homeless and forgotten by the military... one of them may make it, i have doubts about the other... very sad state of affairs indeed... the military machine is just that... a fucking machine!

And the service men and women aren't "parts" of the machine.... they are "fuel"

the casualties are way down from the vietnam era for a reason...soldiers are better at not getting killed...better trained..obviously the low death rate in combat is a tribute to their extensive training and commitment and would naturally approach the number of suicides by default....would you all feel better if we lost ten times the amount in combat...... the skewing and misrepresenting statistics is an art...the military does it and so does the liberal left ...and everyone inbetween
that said...a dude blowing his own head off in a bunker in Iraq is just as much a casualty of war as a dude getting his head blown off by an enemy...they are both dead forever and both deaths could have been prevented but were not
perspective shot...in 2005 11 out of every 100,000 people offed themselves in the good ol USA and it is the 7th leading killer of males overall and third for age 15-24...its not only a military problem is my point

Yes this is very sad.
They are brainwashed into signing up to basically be murderers AND THEN THEY WAKE UP AND REALISE THAT and cant handle it
Very sad indeed!
