AT reunites with his hats...

I've written a journal entry or two in regards to my hats before. Three years ago, actually. That was when I was last in my "hometown", and I think I talked about getting a new fedora then, and also about reshaping one of my old Stetsons. I'd left all of my hats here but one, so I'm quite happy to have reunited with them.

The hat I'd taken with me to the galaxy far, far away, where I work, is a brown fedora I bought here three years ago from a shop just down the street about eight blocks from my place. I remember just walking down there and purchasing it in September of 2009. I remember wishing I could take all of my hats back to the far-away galaxy, but that just wasn't possible. So I'd taken just the brown fedora with me. It's been through a couple of shape changes since then. I'm happy with the way it looks now. Right after buying it, I'd rebashed(reshaped) it to look somewhat like that "Indiana Jones" hat. It stayed that way for a couple years, but earlier this year, I was watching Casablanca and I just felt this urge to rebash the hat again, this time to make it look more like the one Humphrey Bogart wore in the film. So I did that, and I decided it looked much better this way.

Then I came back here. Tatooine of Darth Mysterious, if you will, lol. Anyway, I checked the conditions of all my hats the day I came back here, and immediately noticed they all needed rebashing of some sort. So I started with my Stetson straw cowboy hat. Nothing too crazy, just making the curves of the brim more exaggerated than they were before...if that makes sense to you readers(whoever you are, lol). Then just yesterday, I decided to work on my Tyrolean hat. I never quite looked "right" in that hat, so I decided to completely change the shape of it. I rebashed the crown into something more "Bogart-like", and then I also changed the brim shape, too. It originally had the back part of it flipped upward which is a typical shape for a lot of hats. I decided to curl the front part as well as the back part in such a way that it no longer quite looks like a Tyrolean now, lol. But I think it suits my style way better now. In fact, I was wearing it last night and it was just such a joy doing so.

My Royal Stetson hat, which originally looked nothing like it does now, also needed some work. I didn't really change anything, but rather I simply fixed the areas that needed to be fixed. I missed the hat because I had intended to wear it a lot the last time I was here but couldn't. Speaking of Stetson, does anyone know if Royal Stetson and Stetson are the same company? lol Actually, I should just google, shouldn't I... LOL xD But anyway, my old Stetson, the one I referred to as an "old friend" in one of my blog entries, seems to be in need of a complete rebashing this time around. I did that three years ago too, but now I'm looking at it and I can't help but want to change it once again. So I guess that's what I'll be doing in the next little while. I've had it for 22 years, I got it when I was still a kid, lol. Now I wear it and it's a bit on the tight side for a pretty obvious reason, but I think I want to keep it and have it look nice so that, someday, I can give it to my kid. When I DO have a kid that is, LOL.

In the meantime, I think my old friend's calling me...
