Hello all, well I guess I am kind of one of the real oldies here. I won't say how old but I keep you guessing with one clue I am now of age here in the UK to have a free bus pass, cause I have reached the age when they are issued to adults here in the UK. Now in my bit about me here you should get a good idea of my age. So here goes.
Where am I ? Now living here Essex, about 37 miles from London. Was born in London and moved out into Essex in 1967 at the age of 17. At the time I was teenager and getting to hippy stuff, and music and radio broadcasting. Around the mid 1960s when here in the UK we had the 'pirate radio stations. I started to follow them and support them. But the UK powers claimed the pirate radio stations was causing to airways, stopping massagers which was totally untrue. But the powers that been had there way and in August 1967 most of the 'pirates radio stations close so as not to break the law. One station that started it all off as far as the UK was.....stayed on. Ask me more if you wanna more. One point the was 15,million listens most unhappy.
From the late 1960s I lived here in Essex a place called Basildon which was about 32 miles from London. All my family came, and settled down to life out in Essex. In the mid 1970s We moved a little out of Basildon, which at the time was what was called ' A Newtown, cause almost all was built in the late 1950s and 60s, but they are still building new homes for people.
My hobbies was music, supporting 'pirate radio' doing my best to tell the government that enjoyed 'pirate radio' etc. In my early 20s I working in Basildon, living with mum and dad, and bros and me Nan (Dads mum) enjoy the swinging late 60s and early 70s. was into the hippy era jeans had to be 501;s and blue.
Lived at home and grow up as young people did, getting older and slow over the last 30 years or so, sadly lost members of my family, first our Nan (dads mum)in 1976, around Christmas time. Then about ten years later in 1986 lost my dad. I guess from that point on I was sort of looking after our mum. Everyone getting in what really is ' Getting on with life, as best'. The last sad lose was of our mum, was passed away last July 2011. What a sad losing me mum......but she had a good age almost 91.
Today I am a loner no longer being mums carer, but get back into life ways picking my hobbies at my right old age. Today love chatting to people of all sorts colour of skin means nothing its the I chatting too. I guess I would like to look for company now, to chat and be with.
Currently I am helping various internet radio stations get more listeners, enjoy almost every kind of music. From the 1950s to some present day stuff. Love mucking about with computers until they need repairing at the shop LOL, but now know a good bit about them. Enjoy keep my nice large bungalow looking nice, and our 'Mr Max' the family tabby cat.....which is great company for me, when I have down days. The is almost human I think. Driving I love driving around the UK, taking mum out from afternoon rides in the country onto coast which is Southend up around the East of England to Colchester which is clamed to be the oldest recorded town in Essex.
There you are, up to date about me. Sorry have no photo yet, working on it. Oh forgot where we started my age 62 !
