My parents told me I needed a purpose in life...

I think there was a misunderstanding.

Goal for this week: Stop by new employer's branch, find a clinic, speak to current employer regarding new employer and keep it together, laundy, fingerprinting, dishes and attempt to not be ashamed of what I like. My interests usually come from other people's interests and that makes me feel like a fraud, for some reason, but that's how life works - surely?! And I like a whole mess of stuff which makes me the individual I am. How can I expect to connect to others if I am just afraid of not fitting into their 'category'? Call me Captain Backfire.

I yam who I yam. And I'm fine. No more shame.

I think your parents are right in that you do need some kind of purpose. But the only person who can decide what it is, is you. But it looks like you already understand that, so I'll be quiet now

Thank you! But may parents never actually said that. I was just making a somewhat unfunny joke.

So the week started with a bang, spending 6 hours in the ER with my ma.

Well hey, being a musician, I'm always inspired by other people's work, how they use different chords and in what way they line up those notes. And I try to learn from those guys and apply new info to my own music. But that doesn't mean I'm stealing their ideas. So there you go, you don't have to necessarily be ashamed of what you like.

I've been an anti-fad in the past and I found it was a bit of a tiring experience. When you have that kind of mentality, you very well could miss out on the things others enjoy. So who cares if no one likes what you like, but also who cares if everyone else fuckin' does as well? The fact is that you like something, they make you happy, and that's what matters the most. ;-)

But what's this about the ER?? *wide-eyed*

You are correct! I have a lot of learning to do about this thing called life.

No worries about the ER (I think!). My mom had stomach pains but she's home on antibiotics, thanks for worrying!

Spoke to new employer today (she was not a happy camper - oh noes) and got fingerprinted (easy as pie). Still so tired because I insist on having my alone time with hipforums, music and snacks instead of going to bed early. Roll on Friday, is all I can say!

Everyone has a lot of learning to do about life. ;-)

No problem, I've been known to be a bit of a worry wart as it is. Doesn't sounds like it was that serious, so that's good to hear. :-)

Hope everything works out well for ya. But be careful with the Hip Forums, this place could wear you out even quicker than your work could if you'd let it! lol
