And then July 6th my first Open Air FlowerPower party. Really looking forward to that one!

O.K...I'll be in Ghent this weekend...it's gonna be a nice gig anyway...

some information on the line up on that gig etc...will follow later...


first..I'll like to do a little report on the gig in Bereklauw,
as Thomas said it's the only hippie commune left in bloody Belgium
reached there shortly after noon,and directly did a workshop *sound healing*
damn..this was really superb...it's a bit of shamanistic healing..
we all lay down stretched out in the sun in a very calm environment=a huge tree around us..
the folks who did this healing played all kind of instruments around our ears reallyand they did some singing,even fanning,using aromatic scents etc...it was such a relaxing experience...that we all felt sad it was over after an hour session...after that there was a futuristic fashion show and at 19.00h the music performances started,a belly dancing girl Nefertari together with a musical group,then Shakara with their afro beat=really keeps you dancing...what I liked most were Lokomotiv...these gongs and drums..
it's something African/Brazilian...it drums into your heart...they finished by 01.30h,I believe...but then there was disco caravan...aw...gypsie music sounds..they were still playing at 07.00h when we left..great...
there was a good campfire as well..I got my down and tired feeling around 03.00h...and sat around the campfire for a long while..it's relaxing to look into the flames and feel the warmth...everyone enjoys that feeling...I reached home only at 11.45h ..due to some train timetables who are different on a sunday...


the gig in Molenbeersel with Strangebrew last saturday...
was allright what the music is concerned..but..very few folks came...
because of the good weather,barbecues,holidays on the coast etc...
nevertheless...we had a nice get together with some friends..
I could sleep overnight in my friend's mobilhome...
the gig was over at 04.30h...we smoked a few spliffs...and had a nice giggle(ahah)

So..coming gig is more like a neighbourhoud festie in the city of Ghent which is my favorite town in Belgium..I've seen Sidi Caravan and Tiny legs Tim before in a gig...Tim plays very good blues music..

well..this gig in Ghent=Zaradi Tebe..was O.K
I was there 1 day before...and wandered around a bit in this marvellous city..my favorite place really...
i met up with Thomas at 17.00h..next day and we went to the Brugsepoort where this festival was going on..
it's in an area of Ghent where lots of folks from Morrocco live...great vibes..
the music...was exactly not what I really expected...Sidi Caravan..allright..the next gig was O.K as well..
an act with a Morroco belly dancer...great performance=see attached picture..
I did not like the hip hop from ABN..they had to stop early at police orders because of noise??
perhaps someone could not sleep??(ahah)that kind of hip hop reminded me of some rap which is very often really agressive..not my style...
we went home after midnight..and i could test out my sleeping bag in the garage of my friends girlfriend..
next day=rainy day...so..I went home by train..

next gig...well..I don't know really...Goa Gil at 30th of June??
no..there's Ottertrotter at 24th of June which I do not wanna miss at all..more details later on..

Another little festival I don't wanna miss is Ottertrotter Mechelen..will go on at 24th June...
and it's a real walk through the entire world,there's not only music from all around,but also food,souvenirs,workshops..
at 19.00h a workshop on streetdance+
breakdance which I would like to attend...
I always go bit nuts at these African,Balkan gypsie,salsa sounds etc..
and the whole festival is FREE...no entrance fee..
looking really forward to all this!!

Another flowerpower gig announced for friday 6th of July..
it's in St.Joris Winge(Aarschot regio)
this time it's an open air one..in the woods,
my friend Aquarius is DJ there that evening..
let's keep our fingers crossed for good weather

Let me tell you all that this gig was really farout..
the location in a forest was as a matter of fact quite isolated and deep down in the place.
I could not reach it with my motorbike because it was a dirt track,
the dude who organised this gig lives in a chalet there and had arrranged a spot for the D.J's,a bar for softdrinks and beer and a toilet facility..
the music was fantastic...DJ Cosmic Masseur played until over midnight and Aquarius took over up til 07.00 in the morning..
it was attended by a group of folks who really like flowerpower music..
we all danced our arses away,and we all had a time away from society
and that's a good feeling sometimes..
next gig is a goa trance and psychedlic rock in the city of Ghent 20th till 22th July..
I've got my ticket ordered by a friend who lives in Ghent
