Can someone tell me some songs from the 60s or 70s that are like happy...psychedelic rock...I can't really describe it, but some songs include "Magic Carpet Ride" by steppenwolf and "incense and peppermints" by Strawberry Alarm Clock...sorry I couldn't explain it more, but it's like those two songs. thanks
Try the 13th Floor Elevators, early Pink Floyd (anything from the Piper at the Gates of Dawn album), a few things by Donovan like Hurdy Gurdy Man, and of course Jimi Hendrix and Jefferson Airplane, truly giants of acid rock. Then let me know what you think dude.
Those songs are what I would consider to be boring '60s psychedelic rock. Here are a few better '60s psychedelic tracks I can pull off the top of my head right now: The Beatles - "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" The Byrds - "Eight Miles High" Cream - "Swlabr" Iron Butterfly - "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" Pink Floyd - "Matilda Mother" The Pretty Things - "Defecting Grey" The 13th Floor Elevators - "Roller Coaster" Tomorrow - "My White Bicycle" The Who - "I Can See for Miles" The Yardbirds - "Still I'm Sad" The Zombies - "Time of the Season"
those are good songs, but they're more deep than I mean...(that sounds weird) I'm talking about kinda happy songs, like what would play in a dance club in the late 60s

I don't mind it... but I wasn't saying that it was one of my favorite songs or anything. I thought the guy the post was directed to might like it. I was trying to think of things (somewhat) similar to "Magic Carpet Ride" and "Incense and Peppermints," so, you know...
