Thanks for the sympathy Glen, I'm not sure how I'm going to get over this, but hopefully I'll pull through somehow.

Half the food we get imported ends up in a landfill site anyway.

When I saw the title to this, I wondered if the UK was having to deal with what the US dealt with several years back.

Lettuce and maybe some other vegs were carrying salmonella. If I remember right, the infected lettuce (and other vegs involved, but mainly lettuce) got the salmonella from being fed dirty water.

    Grow your own.

I don't buy imported meat, fruits and vegetables....tomatoes from spain, potato from egypt, brussels sprouts from the netherlands...
    No thanks.

Sorry to rattle your cage rolling.

Obviously the right to free speech on this forum doesn't extend to the hashtag ;)

I tried to fight ''google'' being used as a verb ad implanting itself into the English language

now I am fighting hashtags....twitter did start it and now people are actually saying it in their conversations

its kinda like people forgot the English language or that a thought can be conveyed to people without the hash tag....

I reserve the right to piss on all hashtags outside of the twitterverse

    :)

not sure if this is connected but now fast food places where I live are charging for extra garnish....macdonalds tried to charge me 60 cents to double the tomato on my sons burg....my kid frequents places that let you double up because he likes a salad on top of his sub or burger...........so no more macdonalds...they are probably the ones messing with the supply in the first place

Maybe only slightly less pointless than celery, which apparently uses up more calories in eating it than it gives you when you digest it. I'm surprised no one's come up with "The Celery Diet" as a new fad.

Iceberg lettuce is the shittiest lettuce you can buy, anyway. It has next to no nutrition and is basically just crunchy water. Hell, it's a scientifically proven a bad food to feed it to freakin' guinea pigs, because it's just going to fill them with water and bloat them rather than actually feed them with proper nutrients! GUINEA PIGS! If it's that bad for them, how bad is it for US?!

I think it's better for people to have a shortage of food devoid of nutrition, because it makes people buy (in this case) lettuce that has much more nutrition and tastes a LOT better because of that. (Like romaine or a baby spring mix with several types in it.)
