    To me:
It shows a lack of RESPECT and IGNORANCE in Education
The Grumpy ole man in me thinks that the rise in Standards in society has only seen a fall in standards of Ethics.
The Fight for Freedom was not made for those for others to take that Right to belittle and mock their sacrifice .
It's a matter of Moral attitude and indeed Conscience

Of course. I'm just saying i don't see much mocking in those pics and examples. I see people posing for a camera at a monument. They could be just ignorant of how disrespectful they are to others. I saw much much worse.

In addition to my people, (I'm survivor lineage) I am remembering the other six million Romani, leftists, givers of compassionate aid to Jews/Righteous Gentiles, homosexuals, disabled and those simply disagreed with who also perished at the hand of Fascism.
    Never Again and Never Here.

paradise, I don't often have the urge to slap people, but I do right now.
My family lost most of two generations at Auschwitz, and one other camp. I believe the survivors ringing the grave pit photo is from liberation of Auschwitz. (Based more on a knowledge of photojournalism history than my birth family's limited information. Those are Maragret Bourke-White's shots, I think.)
The images could be my great uncles and aunts. In either location.

Who would think this is ok, in any universe?
    Did this originate in Coachella?

What do you mean exactly, drummin? You take issue with the person who pointed out these inapropriate selfies by photoshopping them in those holocaust pics? If so, I can relate a bit. He took those selfies of others to a new level of offensive. Maybe with good intent in mind but yeah. Sorry if i misinterpreted you!

Same here. There are just tourist, goofing around. I don't think their intentions are to mock. I see the same in the 9/11 memorial and that is an event that brings back personal memories. I see tourist goofing around, taking silly pics. But i understand that the event is distant to them (emotionally and geographically).

As I understand most of these were at the memorial in Berlin. But I see where you might make that connection since they look like otherwise normal people. Just utterly clueless about the caliber of decency we may have seen from earlier generations in such a hallowed place.

I don't think any of them were blatantly mocking the situation, but maybe the tour should be much shorter to keep the plugged-in generation from getting "bored". It seems boredom makes people do some rancid things these days.

The problem with the specific memorial in Berlin is that it doesn't represent anything at all. There are several hundred big concret blocks in formation. Unless you enter on the right side, you don't know what you're looking at or what you're walking through. It is just a maze of rocks to run through and climb over and it's an every day occurrence.

Foreigners will come through and ask all the time what is it. Tour guides have to approach from the right side, sit the groups down and tell them what it is.

This memorial is so often damaged and abused that the Jewish community sought out a specialized coating to coat the blocks so that graffiti could be easily wiped away. They sought this coating out of Switzerland, good old "neutral" Switzerland. But there was a catch.

The manufacturing plant that processed and profited from so much Zyklon-B out of Swiss which was used to kill the Jews was now the same manufacturing plant selling the coating to remembering them. They were now profiting from them again.

Well this was an outrage, but they chose not to do anything about it. I'm certain they voted and in the end, the eyesaw blocks stayed and the Swiss profited once again. Is a very interesting story I remember it all. And I remember the German outrage too.

Many said to build the memorial on the front door step of that factory. They knew what they were producing and what it was being used for and they made a mint. Out of all WW2 atrocities this is regarded as one of the ones that slipped the minds of the world. Good old "neutral" Swiss, knew what was going to come from the manufacturing and production requests and decided to profit from the atrocities rather than help. Then that same company profits again by selling the coating to remember the fact that their product killed so many.

That didn't matter to the Jewish community in Berlin. As long as the Germans don't forget, they're happy.

So that's why the photos on the left are of happy people on the monuments. Chances are they don't even know what they're posing on. I can't say for sure because I dunno who makes the photos on the right or why'd you'd even do that, but everyday there would be hundreds if not thousands of visitors going through that memorial without a hint of acknowledgement as to what it even is unless they read a small plaque on the east side with the trees. :) so no ignorance on their part for that.

Also must be taken into consideration that like America with its KKK and bad history, Europe as a whole is ecompassed with an enormous following of National Socialism. It's not just ignorance and a lack of education and respect, there are some real deep at heart feelings still about this. America is still repairing itself from the civil war era, well WW2 was less than half that time ago, you're going to have your opposing rebels. It would be ignorant and ill educated to think otherwise.

I meant slap the idiots who photoshopped those images. Not Paradise.
Sorry for being "as clear as mud."

paradise, the Coachella comment was a dig at the cultural appropriation that goes on in music fest fashion.
I knew the original shots were urban.
    I need a crabby-ass moderator warning flag. :)

history for me is not evidence
As life taught me that ppl lie

i never met Hitler ... therefore know nothing about him
i have read that the holocaust was a psyops and as much evidence for this as against

strange that the superior ppl would say we were abused and need help

all days to remember alleged past events do not enhance present day focus on current affairs
ppl have been remembering stuff for thousands of yrs and it just gets worse

    lets remember jesus was murdered
    making the world better ?
    nope !

we cannot even prove current events are true, even the weather is manipulated
news is attempted control and history is worse

your parents lie to you from birth yet you trust them

i gotta call bs on this

Ww2 never happened, There was never any destroyed works of art,
never any fire bombing in Berlin, no one died and no wars ever happened,
No bombs dropped. No world. You have not been in space to see earth, so
Earth doesn't exist either, and neither do you. You are just a spec.

You are not real, you are just a bot who does not exist.

What a worthless bump of this thread. If one thinks the holocaust did not happen go discuss it in the conspiracy subforum.
