LOL, Trump is a horrible liar and Capone would be mortified at the comparison. Al spoke his mind, but he was also a great liar because, unlike Trump, he was neither an idiot nor made any bones about who he was. All Trump has accomplished is to make both the republican and democratic parties look like the greedy terrible liars they are. They have striped us of our rights, accumulated all the wealth at the top, and turned what was a balanced budget into a 20 trillion dollar debt using nothing more than blue smoke and mirrors. Whoever comes after Trump is what I'm worried about, because he has made it obvious to everyone that the republican party is now up for grabs and the minute the economy takes a nose dive we may see a kinder-gentler version of Adolf Hitler in office who not only knows how to lie with the best of them, but can work a crowd like a professional and is absolutely ruthless.

Without channeling Kreskin, I sure couldn't attempt such a bold prediction. Every administration screws with the VA, Social Security and Medicare (though they rarely screw with medicaid). Remember how GW tried to talk us into putting our social security into the stock market? Just imagine if he had been successful with that, right before the housing collapse and subsequent market crash. Old bastards like me would have been totally screwed.

GW was a thug hired to deal with Saddam, a problem that went all the way back to Reagan. By the way, Reagan was never a real republican. He was a democrat from the start and engineered a path for democrats to take over California rather brilliantly. While claiming to have brought down the Soviets, which would have happened on its own. After all, you just can't score a buck with communism or socialism. It's all theater of course, but what if this episode is to be a recovery period. A way to lull Americans back into the usual false sense of security so they get overconfident and dig up all those mason jars and start investing again.

They already got the mattress money with Obama.

I dunno. It's not just Trump. The Ryan Republicans control the House, and he's been after Medicare and Social Security for quite awhile. Instead of Social Security and Medicare, he wants to give us a voucher system. I'm just hoping the Republicans overplay their hand, but who knows?

Each side overplays their hand, as if the white house was a kingdom. The building is cursed.

Sadly, people don't seem too much bothered by any of this.

So what's new with Yemen these days?
    Serious question.
Did America stop aiding Saudis in bombing Yemen?
    I haven't been following.

The problem may be lack of context. Where was the photo taken and of what? Where did the figures come from? Were the bombs dropped on ISIS forces? Al Qaeda? If you find that information distressing, I'm afraid there's probably more to come. Trump promised today to wipe ISIS off the face of the earth!

LOL, people still assume they live in a country where the rule of law applies. Not only does the rule of law not apply, Congress makes the laws! They can invent whatever excuse they want to impeach the bastard, but the question is can they create enough support among themselves for it without shooting themselves in the foot politically. They're all lawyers these days and, no doubt, they could come up with some excuse to impeach him that has to do with national security and the CIA, NSA, and everyone that Trump himself has been fighting despite the fact they are part of the executive branch! That way congress would not have to reveal too many details of why they impeached him and just point fingers at Russia or whatever. The fact that Trump has immediately replaced the heads of his own spy departments does not look good in face of the facts they were the ones who pointed out Russian tampering in the election.

Its a nasty can of worms if I ever saw one and the scandal could cost the country plenty. Normally I might expect them to let it go if they didn't have concrete evidence, but with neither party happy with Trump its hard to saw what will happen. Politicians being politicians they're rushing to explore the possibilities because Trump's approval ratings are the lowest ever for a new president.

I can't seem to decide if its better to watch congress and the president destroy the government's credibility all at once or just keep dragging it out for another decade or two. Its like asking whether you want to live with broken leg you can't walk on or have it amputated without anesthetic. The idea that someone is going to come along and rescue the American people from themselves is how Trump got elected.

Sometimes it takes a downfall to create a New dynasty - and for the time that are (continually) changing

We've already collapsed the entire world economy and WWIII doesn't look likely or, at least, isn't really worth considering since the US military is so powerful it would mean everyone just launching all their nuclear weapons, in which case, the changes uncured are not worth discussing. Trump being exposed as the idiotic misogynistic-racist he is by someone posting a sex video of him online or something would be my own personal preference.

All this presumption on the US being All Powerful is a error - it is the danger of the many which lie in the shadows. than the danger that stands before one.
(who knows what it is that lesser, or those with more closely guarded armouries have at their disposal).
Nuclear weapons are not the next (or even current) WMD - there are much more potent weapons of selective destruction - or should that be disruption, for it is far more safer but harming when the anger that comes from with - hence the successful record of covert ops.

Trump is indeed a figurehead - although I've also known that been said of a diversion ... or a 'Patsy'

Trump is not a figurehead, he's the leader of the mindless mob who are insisting somebody must save them from themselves. Fundamentals in the US, for example, are infamous for having the worst social problems in the developed world including the highest divorce, child abuse, poverty, etc. and they are equally infamous for complaining nonstop that the rest of the world is why they have so many problems and for their preachers being virtually indistinguishable from their politicians. His whole problem with the republican and democratic parties is that he is not one of the good-old-boys and is threatening to rock the boat. He's a loose cannon on deck which is the one thing most of the entrenched wealth in the US can agree is undesirable. They are pressuring him just as fast as they can and, along with record protests against him, he will comply to a significant extent or his ass will be erased one way or another and he knows it. Thankfully, the idiot is just smart enough to know when he really has no choice but, pushing how much he can get away with is just who he is.

The US is the wealthiest country in the world and the Pentagon alone spends more money in a year than most countries make. We are decades ahead of anyone in technology and already produce 40% of all the weapons sold. We not only won WWI and WWII, we now win half the Nobel and Olympic medals every year and are the third most populous country in the world with outrageous resources the envy of any country. The US is all-powerful for all practical purposes, however, something like a theory of everything could throw a serious monkey-wrench into the situation just as the advent of quantum mechanics and Relativity threw a huge monkey-wrench into everything leading up to WWI and WWII.
