I don't think any movie scared me as a child. I had other things going on that scared me in my life....but there was one scene...I think it was from Jason and the Argonauts or something like that...I don't even know...but it was a movie about a big giant that theyopened up a circular thing in his ankle and stuff came pouring out.....This was a movie they were playing at conventions my parents used to take me to year after year.....and they always played that movie year after year. I only remember that scene...but I think I was scared by that as gigantic, megalithic things seemed to scare me.
Go to the Head of the Class (Not really a movie but an hour long TV show that scared the shit out of me.) And of course Boogedy Man, I was scared of pilgrims for years after watching Mr Boogedy.
Oh yeah, I forgot about Candyman. I re-watched that movie recently and I approached it from the perspective of the main female character (Helen) being schizophrenic and it made me see the film in an entirely new light.
I almost forgot the Twilight Zone movie. This is definitely the one that fucked me up the most as a kid.
i really don't remember being scared by any movies as a kid. but i did always freak out a little bit when unsolved mysteries came on tv... wasn't that the movie where sinbad played a genie?
1953 House Of Wax starring Vincent Price. My brother use to scare the shit out of me with this movie.
100% agree with this - the only 2 films that ever scared me as a kid. Of the 2, Freddy was the more scarey...........
I highly suggest you guys watch Candyman and face your fear! Both my husband and I did just that this year. I swear it is not as scary if you approach it thinking Helen is a schizophrenic and Candyman is all in her head.
Pet semetary Carry - my. babysitter made me watch it on tv when I wax 5, not a good babysitter.. I remember my brother saying, look she cut herself in the shower and now they are throwing bandaids at her.
It gives the movie a lot more depth when you approach it from this mind set. And it isn't even that unrealistic - Schizophrenia usually hits people when they are in their early 20's, which the main character is.
never got too worked up over "monster movies" but this one kinda fucked with my head though, considering it is supposedly based on true events.
