Like the books, bit over the top, but wrong actors for the parts didn't help!

My wife and I saw the theatrical release the same day it came out. I never read the book. The unrated/uncensored version of the movie is good. I've seen it 3 times. (With my wife)
My wife that's a whole other story. She's read the hard cover 5+ times that I know of. Then a got her a kindle fire and she read it again 5+ times that I know of. She's watched the unrated/uncensored version 5+times that I know of....hummm what's going on here?

My wife 100 percent couldn't agree more with Morrow's statement. She couldn't stand Jamie Dornan.
She wanted her heart throb of all heart throbs Henry Cavill

I'm so glad he didn't get/want the part. Fifty shades would be on all f*cking day at my house. Good Grief.
Believe me I found this picture in a drawer where the remote controls are..lol
I guess there could be other places to find the picture though. Next to the Hitachi would have been surprisingly funny. Lol.

Yeah the unrated version was better, Watched it a couple of times. Not as horrible as everyone made it out to be, Read the first book only, I think the other two were to milk people for money.

Didn't care for the movie, reminded me a little of 9 1/2 weeks... and a little of the story of o, which I thought was far better.

And if you have not seen the movie secretary, it seems 50 shades of grey ripped off this movie too. 2002 movie James spader plays Edward grey and in 50 shades the powerful guy is Christian grey. If you liked 50 shades of grey check out the secretary

Holy cow, MorphGirl. I never caught that. Total rip off.

I loved The Secretary, and 9 1/2 Weeks.
My wife didn't get The Secretary, didn't like it or understand it, couldn't get into it "what do worms have to with sex!....ugh!"...lol. She did like 9 1/2 week's.

My wife's love for 50 shades is because of the being tied or restrained, not so much the meaning behind sub or dom. We both are in the dark so to speak. I'm trying to figure it out the sub and dom as well. I'm learning alot about the lifestyle and I like it. I'm constantly reading about BDSM. I do know, I like some pain in my sex now. Me being slapped and choked by my wife are included with intimacy. Love it.

I'm taking baby steps with my wife, and as she is getting more interested so am I. I guess we're both taking baby steps. We have a beautiful set of leather wrist, ankle, thigh , neck/collar restraints as well as 2-3-4-5 hog tie set, and bed post tethers. Looking to buy my first flogger before the new year. 2017 is going to be fun! Any help anyone can offer....I'm a sponge.

    Thanks for your post.

I found the story of O really interesting... it is a lot older of a film but really puts the roles in a good perspective. Low budget perhaps
The sub is in control in a way cause the sub can always say no... 50 shades of grey didn't strike me as safe at all since what she never wanted was never considered and took without consent I felt. I am not into it in real life as I don't think things are always one way, one in a Dom role at all times, but that is just me. :)

As for the book, one book set back womens lib a decade

You know most of those ladies that read the book 5 times are imagining a 50 yr old Christian Grey, not a 27 yr old one

    Weirdos

Didnt care for the movie but I do think Dakota Johnson is lovely. I feel like it simply didnt live up to the hype ...Im sure ill watch it again. Reminds me of that movie Secretary though ...very similar...even the main characters name is "Mr Grey"

More than a decade I think, but women's lubbers give women a bad name today.... common courtesies are frowned upon now and apparently is is not ok to say an actress was sexy and funny after she is gone. :/

Lovely foxes, I agree that there was a lot of hype, way too much which sets expectations high

Oh, the Steve Martin thing, that was so retarded

Like everyone's got to pretend now every teenage straight male in 1983 didn't bruise a testicle or two when she first appeared in the gold bikini

I read "The Story of O" a long time ago.It was probably written by Appolonaire the Surrealist poet.It was a real turn on and went to consolidate my nascent and emerging Dom tendencies.I tried to read fifty shades of grey but I found the writing awfully bad.I couldn't be bothered to watch the film.

Yep, personally I don't mind someone holding a door open for me, I have done the same for men, especially when their arms are full of stuff.. some women frown on it. Anyways it has been taken too far to the point if favouritism. :(

Yep many a bruised testier because of that scene... was there a poster of it made for boys walls like Farah faucet i in the red bathing Suit?

I remember there was some speculation that the story was stolen by a professor or something and published his students work? Could be wrong but I remember hearing something like that?

How about when you start the topic on O you link it in this thread.? It has been a long time since I saw it... I really should watch it again. I am going to be looking for it. Yeah just like in rea, lily life conversations flow and change constantly.

When you see it, it would be nice to hear what you think of it. I didn't care too much for the film, never read the book. Maybe the book was better, let me know ?

The first time I saw it I didn't like it. It was in a theater and there were other people around. It was sort of embarrassing because you knew they weren't prepared to see that much sex.
I also borrowed it from the local library on DVD. That time it was "ok". Just ok, not terrific. I don't remember what I thought of the acting. The plot didn't exactly have me riveted, partly because I had seen it before, and partly because it's so much about grooming this noob girl into an S&M person (there is a term for this I'm forgetting). They refer to her as "the submissive" a whole lot. I wasn't into that.
