Read the story, give your opinion, then say if you would be prepared to do it, please :)

If I was younger, then yes. I might do it, but I'm not sure how things might be in the future, would I miss everyone? Would I even fit in? I guess it depends how far in the future your woken!

Sign of the times I guess!

I just loved the story from the independent. I also read the 16 page judgement from the royal courts of justice. It was very emotional for me also coming from divorced parents at the age of 3.

I would not cryogenic myself at any age. I do not what to come back to a society like the movie "the fifth element ", "minority report" or "demolition man"

Alone, no family, no friends, no traces of anybody I ever knew. Being tossed into a world, trying to catch up to all the changes . Depression would be an all time high and I would definitely succumb to suicide.

The irony of freezing myself to live in the future only to regret it and want to die.

On the side of little "JS" I pray for her that she gets her wish and is able to wake up to a health body free of cancer in a world she can make her own. I wish I had her bravery and fearless commitment to help a mankind. It is a task that only a 14 year old named "JS " could teach all of us. I respect her very much and I'm very proud that I was able to read her story and remember her. I'll never forget her. I'd be a very proud parent if she was my daughter.

Please watch over her for me and us all.

thank you Morrow for sharing.

I'm really broken up, sobbing again. I'm sorry. Her (JS) strength that she has, like so many other women reduces me to jello. I need strength like them and children like little .....JS.

Your better than all of us. Rest in peace.

I read and informed. It is really interesting but I am sorry as it is pathetic.

if cost were no object, i really see no problem with having my body frozen when its getting ready to give out on me anyway.

i don't know if we've really developed a reliable way to do that.

i'm pretty sure we haven't developed a reliable way to revive anyone from it.

but i don't understand the problem other people seem to have with the concept.

i wouldn't worry about being revived in a distopian world, because i don't see it likely that one would have the incentive, let alone means, to do so.

of course i might have already been born into another life on another world somewhere,

or even lived and died multiple ones, before anything, if anything, was likely to be done with my former body from this one.

so if i was already living, or in some other way then living, existing, elsewhere in some other way,

then i'm not sure what would happen, but i still wouldn't worry about it being any more of a problem.

I don't get why freeze the body if she died of cancer thinking there was a cure in the future. My thinking even if there is a cure, she died of the disease therefore removing the cancer will not reverse the organ failure. Sad

by the same token, i don't get the big deal why not?

I think it's selfish.

Meanwhile every ordinary person with cancer has to suffer. Uncool.

That comment makes no sense. She suffered and died from organ failure due to wide spread cancer throughout her body. My father suffered a similar fate from lung cancer. Death came too fast to comprehend. One day you are fine and then you have a few days to live

What I'm trying to say, Johnno, is that don't you think it's a little unfair for someone to receive a second chance possibly in the future while the rest of the people with same problem are just going to inevitably cease to be forever after?

I do. So I find it selfish and it makes sense to me. :)

It's childish of you to be a grumpy bum at the hand of someone else's opinion.

You are talking ill of someone you don't know or know what she had to go through before she passed away. That is both rude and immoral

Nothing? Nothing to say?
Good.

While my ideals are a bit iffy, I'll be damned if I'm going to sit here and let someone like you whinge about me judging. When you're judging me for thinking about millions of people suffering with cancer, while your own concern stands anchored over one individual and you have the audacity to call me selfish.

Pah!

You are an idiot. My father died of cancer this year. Many of my friends and family have died of cancer as well as this little girl who just needed something to believe in

Cancer has effected everybody. Don't speak of it like you are the only one suffering with your losses and everything you think is right because you are dealing with it in your own way.

You know nothing about me nor do you know if I've lost anything myself which put your comments about me being judgemental to shame. Shame on you mister. Shame on you for judging me. Shame on you for being so self fixated with your own agenda, a characteristic of selfishness.

Now I'm done with you with this conversation. I have read, gave my opinion as asked in the OP.

You've decided to attack me and criticize my personal opinions with nothing more than hypocrisy. This will be my last sentence on the matter. Should you choose to apologize to me for being jerk, I will accept this. If not, the opinions of someone you know nothing about will continue to remain your issue and burden to deal with.

The sad part people forget is that she died then got frozen whichmeans even if they found a cure for cancer and found a way to reanimate her.... she is still not alive
