It looks like we are in for another exciting season of insanity on the part of Norman Bates in A&E network's Bates Motel.
Now entering its fourth season, Bates Motel and its fine cast are moving inevitably towards the sequence of events portrayed in Psycho.Fans of Alfred Hitchcock's hit movie Psycho, have enjoyed three seasons of Bates Motel, a TV prequel to the famous movie.
Now entering its fourth season, Bates Motel and its fine cast are moving inevitably towards the sequence of events portrayed in Psycho.

The series follows Norman as he grows from a teen into a man, and as he matures, so does his mental illness.

The fourth season opens with Norman waking up alone in a field, disoriented and talking to "himself."
Norman is taken to the County Hospital where he is admitted for 48 hours observation to determine if he is a danger to himself or others.

This sets off a chain of events initiated by his mother, Norma, who freaks out when she attempts to visit him in the hospital.
At last it appears Norman has been identified as having mental issues, and Norma desperately seeks treatment for him.

I won't delve any further into the story so as not to spoil it for you.
However I will say, that the first show of the fourth season ends with a scene you won't soon forget.
So far it's the best episode of the entire series!

It looks like we are in for another exciting season of insanity on the part of Norman Bates (played wonderfully by Freddie Highmore).

The Bates Motel airs Monday nights 8/9pm on A&E network.

Season 5 just hit NetFlux and it's looking pretty good. Rihanna plays Janet Leigh's part. The series is starting to intersect with the original movie's timeline.

Is watching the movie first heavily advised?

Well, I got totally sucked into The Good Doctor, so I will have to check this, Highmores previous work, out

    Trouble is;

    1) There are so many friggin TV shows I'm trying to catch up on, like about 10, and there are a bunch of my favourites staring again in April

    2) On paper this show, Bates Motel, sounds really dumb, a prequel TV series set on a movie I always thought was pretty lame

I don't see it as a plus neither that Rihanna is acting in it.

What about the movie, Ghost? Better?

Yes, but the shower scene is not what you'd expect.

Watched the whole series, enjoyed most of it. The guy who played Norman did an awesome job.
