i have a curiosity which which i doubt i could believe or trust to be answered without one.
the stolen history that ended when the european invasion of the western hemisphere began.

not the fall of chipotlepek nor of chaco cannion, but of their building.
the personalities and individuals who build the ohian earthworks.

i have a lot of what iffs too.

there is more known about the history of great britain before the roman invasion,
and that's an interesting one too.

who were the teachers who's teaching aides petroglyphs were.
not in general but in specific.
what were the specifics of the classes they taught there?

i know more then i want about the people who "built america"
and no where near enough about who sat on that rock,
that one right there, more then a thousand years ago,
who's foot disturbed the dust my own tread stirrs.

we know a little bit about what kind of houses they were building,
living, and celebrating in, at the time they were over ran,

but what about long before there was any threat of a future in which that would happen?

when you eat your gods, and compete with them for food water and shelter.
much has been written, and i've read some of it,
much has been spoken, and i've heard some of it.

epic battles and defeats don't interest me.
the small pleasures of everyday people do.

every day cultures that have been burried and forgotten
by what we are told to believe history is.

i don't want someone to tell me what they think is important,
i want, if i'm going to look at history at all,
to see with my own eyes,
    the real history, of places,
    places that i'm pretty sure,
a time machine, would be the only way,
anyone now, ever can or will.

Even when we witness with our own eyes, it is still reality through a filtered lens.

yes, the filter of our preconceptions. it is a skill to learn how to turn them off, or come close to doing so. like all skills, it CAN be learned.

Too much time needed to appreciate the degree of cultures per visitation,- me thinks - although an interesting 'ticket to ride'

It might be interesting to travel in time, but I doubt it will ever be possible. And since very little remains of the cultures you mentioned, I doubt we will ever know much more about them than we do now. Only archaeology really can give us any new information. In the case of pre-Roman Britain, finds come up from time to time that do extend our knowledge. This is one such

From what thy're finding, the people in the bronze age Britain were much more sophisticated than was previously thought. They've dubbed it 'Britain's Pompeii'

History is not written by the victors, but by the modern revisionist.

either way, who really did what to whom, or more importantly, what every day lives in their cultures were like,

it is rare, and somewhat less then reliable, that any of it hasn't been completely obscured.

(the history taught in school doesn't even try, for which reason, at the time, i didn't either)

layers beneath layers, and even nature scrambles them sometimes. the voice of the 900th grandmother, continued on next rock.

Careful! Going back in time before 1928 might surprise you. Toilet paper was NOT common!
