    The Memory of God
    Those amongst us who are closest to God,
    Who have the fewest desires for themselves,
    Know for themselves that elegant simplicity,
    Can be quite enchantingly beautiful,
    Can touch us, as few things ever can,
    Can be ever so deliciously bewitching!
    Can be ever so, delightfully intriguing.
    The priceless expression, on a newborn!
    Before even learning, how to just smile!
    Before, ever understanding what it sees!
    Before, it might even do one single thing!
    Naive grace of the toddler, reminding me!
    What cannot be remembered, or forgotten,
    Holding me spellbound clutching nothing!
    Embracing their awareness of the context,
    Fathomless eyes deeper than any blue seas,
    Touching me deepest, while doing nothing!
    Doing nothing, spellbound in wonderment!
    Doing nothing, still moving me profoundly!
    Doing nothing, tiny heart bending the most!
    The spark within all, brilliant light without,
    The air we breath, and path beneath my feet;
    Familiar silence echoing, lost in the distance!
    Totally oblivious, yet accomplishing so much!
    The simple pleasure in merely being ourselves;
    Our wonderment, of becoming a part of it all!
    Accepting who we are, in the great big world!
    Running in circles all screaming and shouting!
    Jumping all around, and howling at the moon!
    Chasing our own tails as if trying to bite them!
    Falling down on our ass, laughing hysterically!
    Like all newborns' wondrous elegant simplicity,
    Ignorant virtue shinning all the more brilliantly.
    Ignorant wisdom, triumphant within the silence.
    The shadows abiding the greater presence of light,
    Accepting of whatever their fate might be to come,
    Possessing a disarmingly, naive, charming humility;
    Fading forever within the horizon, of God's memory.
    Amusing themselves, in peaceful carefree contentment,
    Embracing their own dance, becoming poetry in motion!
    Within the greater context of the truth of all our feeble awareness,
    Ultimate truth is never to be fully comprehended by mortal man;
    Merely appreciated Socrates said in all the myriad good things,
    And for the surprises they bring in whatever comes our way.
    Embracing the light within,
    Smiling with my entire body,
    The path lays down before me,
    Embracing the soles of my feet.
    Messaging caresses plying them,
    Strange sensation of recognition,
    As if upon taking a familiar step,
    As if having gone this way before,
    Mother nature embracing me back!
    Urging me on to take another step;
    The adoring path caressing my feet,
    Mama pleading me, to dance again!
    Universal chorus enjoins me to sing!
    To raise up my voice, to the heavens,
    From nowhere, and also everywhere,
    Pleasant juxtaposition of harmonies,
    Memories of what is never forgotten,
    Memories of what all could only live.
    Time slowing within the rock of ages,
    Silent voices laughing in the distance,
    Sparkling air accompanies every move,
    Caressing my skin as if it were a lover.
    Rays of light dancing fairies in midair,
    Twinkling motes of blissful awareness!
    Shadows, enveloping the dancing light;
    The light dancing, thrilled at the touch!
    Ever so gently, seducing my weary soul!
    Ever so tenderly, calling me home again!
    Ever so gently urging me to continue on!
    Ever so tenderly compelling me to dance!
    The path first tread upon long, long ago!
    With deliciously lightest of all footsteps!
    By the ancient humble children, of earth!
    In the time before time ever even existed,
    Our lost horizons, fading into the sunset;
    Dreams beyond, our wildest imagination!
    Boundless, unknown, frames of reference;
    Concepts beyond all possible imagination!
    Awareness, beyond mere words to express.
    Hearing silent laughter, knowing nothing,
    Wonder remains the beginning of wisdom!
    Discovering new dimensions, without end;
    The invisible world around us and within!
    Knowing the only thing I know is nothing,
    Surrounding warmth of inner contentment,
    Feeling connected, to all that surrounds me,
    Humbly embracing, any foolish uncertainty!
    Unaware of passing changes in any seasons;
    Oblivious to the march of time, ever onward,
    Unaware of the greater world, all around us!
    Long since forgotten requiem of a lost lullaby,
    The swan soars, to ever greater heights within!
    Its pulse gushing, as its heart begins throbbing!
    Spreading its wings, to test the ravaging winds,
    Raising its head to gaze on swift moving clouds,
    Overwhelming joy, just to do what its born to do,
    Elated at the thought of spreading its own wings,
    Rejecting the idea the gusting winds can ground it!
    No vagaries in the weather may become limitations!
    No mere gusts of wind, intimidate a powerful swan!
    Rising above the water the swan leaping into the air!
    With nothing but blue skies upon the great wide open;
    Leaving the earth behind, never bothering to look back,
    Becoming lighter and stronger with every beat of wings!
    Effortlessly rising above any and all darker storm clouds!
    The future remaining wide open for a rebel without a clue.
    Content to build castles in the sand with the tide rolling in,
    Totally oblivious, none yet stands against the incoming tide!
    Just as the setting sun on the horizon, cannot know darkness,
    The future's so bright the swan has to don sunblock and shades,
    Reflecting the memory of God above, in all the good things below,
    Alluringly smooth baby butts can entice but often hide their poopies!

    This poem is a great example of how humanism and spiritualism share common ground within the greater truth. Sometimes I tell people if their God is more important to them than love, good luck with that, expressing similar sentiments hidden within this poem. Roughly 60% of my poems are written in such a way a child can interpret them differently from an adult allowing the poems to speak to both your conscious and unconscious minds all because the greater truth only asserts itself within the silent void.
