While not a nudist myself, there is something I always wanted to say to nudists: What's wrong with a little mystery?

I mean, I am glad I don't know what some people look like nude. Celebrities, sports stars--even friends and relatives. There is in fact something to be said for mystery in that regard. It is even more sexy, I think. And there's nothing wrong with sexy, if you ask me at least.

Outside of that, I certainly support your right to follow that path, if that is what you want. We all are entitled to our personal beliefs, our way of life. And it only becomes wrong, if it hurts someone else. And nudism certainly doesn't do that, I know.

Also, I just have to ask: Are nudists against ALL sexualizations (for lack of a better word), of the human body? Because as I said, I am a liberal as they come. But I see nothing wrong with consenting adult sex. What gives with that?

    Peace.

To nudists, being naked simply isn't sexy. And being naked often yourself, and seeing lots of other people naked, doesn't necessarily change your ideas of what's erotic at all. I've heard a claim that "What's erotic is when the body is revealed and concealed at the same time" and even after being involved in naturism for a while, I still think it's true. Maybe if we grew up in a world where nobody wore clothes, that wouldn't happen, but as things are, by the time we're adults we've learned pretty thoroughly what we ought to be turned on by.

What nudists get annoyed by is people who come from the textile world and think that there's something different about sex among nudists, either more of it or none at all. It just isn't true. What you do with your partner alone is nobody else's business, otherwise do the equivalent of "keep it in your pants".

    Textile world? Seriously?

Dude, its not about the nude vs textile world.

Basically you are a guy, no one is going to believe you. "To nudists, being naked simply isn't sexy" - so you don't look at nude photos of young women and rub one out? Because being naked isnt sexy

You think those young women cant tell you are not looking the way you should be if nudism was totally seperate from arousal? No matter how much you try convince yourself otherwise

i think you're confusing nudism with exhibitionism. the point of legitimate nudism isn't showing off your junk to everyone. which isn't to say nudists don't like attractive naked people, just that they aren't naked for the explicit purpose of saying "hey, look at my bits."

First off; I believe I can continue in this thread, as I believe I am on the same side of that logic fence in regards to this issue as the OP; that is - yeah BS

This is one of the clues, is there a single female on the planet, that wouldnt get at least a little bit insecure hearing her partner say something like that?

Note: Talking over the top of them or arguing/discussing it until they see it your way does not mean they agree with you

I would not be able to make a distinction, just have a little think for a second about who you may be talking to, I would be able to tell within milliseconds male or female which ones are totally full of ****

You cant speak for all nudists, you have no idea whats really going on in their heads

We get this version which is just annonymous text on the internet, but then if we were to meet you in real life, quickly discover its all just confined to you and your wife mostly inside your home, or when its outside of that in some nudist resort setting, only with friends/settings your wife is comfortable with, because she is always a half a dozen steps ahead of you without you realising and knows full well , that no you cant always seperate arousal with nudity

    Yes dude, textile world. Seriously.

We haven't met, but even if we had, you wouldn't know what I'm thinking.

It's kind of tedious getting these questions about sex from the textile folk. They're so sure that they know something goes on among nudists that makes sex different. In fact nothing much is different at all, and they're all disappointed and insist that people must either have sex constantly on their minds, or they must have pushed it totally away. Sorry not to feed anyone's obsessions, but real life is often less exciting than we hope.

I never got nudism. So you like to not wear clothes... Big deal, I wouldn't be making up a name for them as if this is some sub culture deal. You don't like to wear clothes. End of. You're just being yourself? :D

Well that is the way it should be...but try running out to the car to grab a CD you left there...or at a beach that isn't C/O and you will see it is a big deal.

Being a nudist is a non judgemental, comfortable mind set. You will find as many explanations against nudity as you will for it. Most of those that deny it or oppose it are in shame of their bodies, been raised ro believe it wrong and furthermore havnt tried it. But people being what they are will never admit to it. Funny side of it.... I have found people that criticize my nudity but yet find it totally acceptable for themselves to go out to the bar on the weekends and look for a partner for sex. Different people each time. I dont deny them tbeir doing it. Why? Because Im non judgemental as a nudist. There are people who judge a person having a new corvette and say why dont he drive a Porsche. Only because he dont like corvettes. Same theory in my mind. Some like it.... Some dont. But do with what your comfortable doing.

No, not all sexualizations of the human body are bad, nor is all nudity a sexualization. It's just that, once you get used to the novelty of nudity, you don't respond like Pavlov's dog anymore to it. There has to be more to it...like sexual interest from the nude person.

It's all about context. If the only experience you have with nudity is sexualized, of course, you'll see it as being a sexual thing. But, if you have a broader range of experiences with nudity, you can see it as other things. The one thing I notice about nude people in a non-sexual setting is that there is more of an openness among people. Sort of like opening up to somebody and telling them how you really feel. Having your clothes off is like opening up and telling who you really are. But, just as most people would be uncomfortable confiding in a friend and having that become a really emotional/exciting moment for them, so can nudity become that way if it's treated as a sexual thing in the wrong context.

But nudists don't go extinct because they just don't get excited anymore. It's all about context. And, yes, mystery is important if sexual/erotic feelings are what you're after.
