I've always loved drinking coffee when I get stoned. I find the taste goes together well, and I find it improves my buzz somehow. I've always gotten too stoned too easily, and I find the coffee sort of mellows out my buzz.

Recently, I heard someone on a podcast make reference to this phenomenon, claiming that coffee actually sobers you up off weed. I think they were suggesting that newbies keep some coffee on hand when they try edibles for their first time or something like that. I thought this was just my personal experience with coffee/weed, but I guess it's something other people have noticed too.

Does anyone else find that coffee mellows out your buzz?

    Great question!!!

Well it depends on the strain...

Sativas and espresso... WATCH OUT my tongue starts flapping.

Indicas and coffee... well I think I'll take a nap... no matter how much coffee I drink.

    Have you thought about that?

No, I just find a general correlation between caffeine and a more mellow buzz. I tend to get less paranoid and feel a little more like I've been smoking Afghan hash.
I pretty much always drink espresso in some form. Smoke more indicas than sativas though, but usually hybrids.

I've explored this combo only a few times. I find it a more lucid high, but I wouldn't say it's a more mellow high. If anything, I'd say I'm more energetic and motivated when I drink coffee while stoned.

I'm an old time coffee drinker. One of the few things working for the state really taught me well was that I could drink coffee ALL day and into the night...and it didn't really affect me in any way - but make me like coffee.

Whether smoking or eating edibles, coffee has never made any difference in how weed affects me.

I honestly sort of envy people that their systems are such that something such as coffee would really affect them, especially to actually mellow your stone. I enjoy the tastes together but that is as far as it goes. :)
