My friend & I want to start a symphonic power metal band. Being a vocalist, how should I train my voice to sound metal, but also epic and a bit operatic? Can you send me any links to help out? Thanks!
After reading the thread title I assumed death metal grunting or black metal shrieking! A high pitched, operatic sound for a proper symphonic/power metal band seems for a large part a quality you should already have. I don't see how one can practice getting a voice like that if you don't have it as a latent quality. But if you have that latent quality I have no soild advice how to train it. I'd probably try to find someone to take lessons.
