The Diner....fun story....


Lillemore, who was in Newport, RI, at the beginning of this thread...and she was sold .....at a famous 50's diner around here...Boy, did I get looks that night...lol

This was celebrating Valentine's Day there one year.... I am live closer to this this diner now, ironically....Fun atmosphere in there and good food....

Mattekat, I have written the stories, and the photos of the dolls illustrated them...usually, there would be many photos to one story,,,and here I am just showing a photo or two of each of some of the stories and some of the sentences in the story, but not the entire story......The dolls would illustrate a story I had in mind...or a theme , at least......and then I would use each photo to illustrate the story...as books do....The thing I have to do is to actually make a book one can hold...is to watercolor my illustrations, instead of using real doll photos......I am not the artist of the dolls...although, I did put the outfits together most of the time, and did all of the work photographing them all over the place. I was told many times that i brought the dolls to life....and even Annette thanked me once, as her team came onto the forum for awhile....I helped sell many of her dolls, as well, and many people wanted the exact dolls I had.....

Sometimes...I would just start photographing a doll or two, and the story would be born as i was doing that.....

The creative process...writing and art can take many avenues........

Before I had the dolls, I would be duh...i want to write, but don't know what to write about for children...so the dolls were my muses and props to born the stories.....in the first place.

 

Even though, I am not in the mood right now, i will continue with this thread. I want to get through the era before I moved here......so I can finish this thread with the era of living here at some point soon....so these will still be the era before moving here today. I will write on the post that we are here now, when it happens.....I also dug out my catalogs, of all of the dolls, so there is no excuse anymore for forgetting anyone's name.....
I am tired of saying sold her or him....so unless i say i have this one still...they were ALL sold....You have met 5 of the 9 dolls I still have....Monja, Ilvi, Tamlyn, Natalie, Tinke and Lotta....Today, you will meet Margeli, who I have, and the in era here later, you will meet Lilith and Ajescha...Everyone else has been sold.

The ending of the art contest story with monja and her best friend.....bunny...
He was gloating here to Monja and telling her she should read certain books to improve her art so she would have a shot of winning next time....He was becomming too much of a braggert and talking monja's ear off. this is how he was comforting her...gloating...



After awhile, monja had had enough...and was ready to kill her best friend...not anymore....LOL...and he was scurrying under the bed,.,,,,




Summer Carnival story with Lillemore
and this was the last story I used with Lillemore, as afterwards, I sold her....
Those teeth and constant chesire big ass grin got to me after awhile....
I painted her tank for this....happy and sad theatre faces....



I cannot believe that I lugged her around the carnival that night putting her on rides, too, for photos....It was fun, though.



"Step right up and get your cotton candy or Sno Cone,!"...Lillemore shouted. She was not shy....

Lilac Girl

Monja was happy to get her skirt back that Lillemore borrowed without asking in the last story...



Monja did wind up giving this skirt to my neighbor's grand daughter who comes to visit every holiday, for Christams...as the little girl is 7...and this is the perfect size for her, and she practices ballet and purple is her favorite color.....Monja gave it to her last Christmas...

Monja is a generous soul...

 

Yeah, I don't care as much for the ones with teeth as I do for the others.

 

Thanks for sharing the images and stories. I can see where I missed out as a child. And how creating such scenarios could fill in the gaps.

I am down to my last three...Last November I sold Monja...She was the one I would ever sell..lol...well, I got Lilith . She is my pouyt faced Finn .

 

Then I have Ilvi..my Irish girl

 

and my Scottish girl Ajescha...

 

and here is AJ again..Did not get a chance to post her before.

 

Thanks for showing updates. I have no brothers or sisters. In a strange way, these photographs questions what it would have been like to have a sibling. These dolls have unique expressions, as you mentioned. Are they purposely made to express them, or as a part coincidence in their creation?
