So the Cubs have arguably the best team in MLB right now. The question is: how will they snatch defeat from the jaws of victory? They are cursed, and forever doomed to fail...
Said the same thing back in 2004 but the Red Sox somehow managed to pull off the miracle – have faith How ironic would it be if they faced and beat the Sox in the World Series Hotwater
Cleveland deserves something right? To hell with Chicago! They can wade in the disappointment of the Bears.
^ eh, it'll take a lot more than this to make up for the last 50 years of cleveland sports. actually, cleveland has had a great year for sports. nba champs, minor league hockey champs, world series, i think there was some local fighter that won some world championship. but the only team that actually interests me is the browns, who are apparently only in the league for comic relief. besides, cleveland deserved the world series win the last two times they made it, when they were actually a better team, and they still managed to blow it in grand fashion.
Yeah, must be hard to go for a team that literally has zero chances to do any good, like the Browns lol. I have a soft spot for them though. I was following Broncos during 97/98 but I never say I was going for them when they won those champinships. Since 99' though... and was a huge deal for me to see them win last year. I was listening to Mike and Mike radio show on ESPN and Greeny said he'd never seen his Jets do any good ever. Lol. I know they were alright at some point with Namath? Or maybe he was the only saving grace in the team, I dunno.
I didn't watch any of the regular season, so I'm not really strongly rooting for either team, but I have seen some Cubs this post season and I like their team. They got a pretty good batting lineup, some decent pitching and then Chapman throwing in the triple digits as their closer is always fun to watch.
And?? The Cubs got shutout twice in the last series.. The Indians were the home team and Baseball is fairly different than other American team sports, insofar that the Starting Pitchers (which sometimes are the best players on the team) are on a rotation and usually only pitch once every 3-4 games. Also the different leagues (which is like the equivalent of conferences in football) actually have different rules. So the National League goes the whole season without having a Designated Hitter (a batter substituted to Hit for the Pitcher) and the American League team goes the whole season without having their Pitcher as a batter. So each team has to adjust to the other rules in the World Series.
As I said, I didn't watch any of the regular season, I'm not terribly invested in either team. I think it will be a good Series, however, I think it would have been have a much more compelling World Series if NBA league officials didn't suspend a player on my NBA team for a game in the Finals and both cities still had their droughts.
You make it sounds like I've been studying all the stats and watching all year long. I haven't watched a game all season.
