Twenty-seven dead. The attackers, 2 or 3, arrived in cars with diplomatic plates. This is a hotel where business travelers stay. An Alquida "affiliated" group has claimed this attack. http://www.theguardian.com/world/live/2015/nov/20/mali-hotel-attack-gunmen-take-hostages-in-bamako-live-updates
In addition to the Air France employees, I also read that some airline employees working for an airline from Turkey were inside. "The Pentagon said 22 military and civilian employees at the defence department were accounted for after the attack. Air France said 12 of its crew who were staying in the hotel were safe. It has cancelled its scheduled flights to and from Bamako for Friday. India’s foreign ministry said 20 Indian nationals were among the hostages, but that they were all known to be alive. Seven Algerians, including diplomats, were trapped in a hotel, according to the country’s foreign ministry. The Chinese state news agency Xinhua said at least seven Chinese tourists were among those trapped inside the building." hostages.http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/nov/20/gunmen-take-hostages-radisson-hotel-mali-bamako

A security guard says the terrorists were hunting for the Air France crew that was staying at the motel. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/africaandindianocean/mali/12010682/Mali-gunmen-were-hunting-for-Air-France-staff-at-Radisson-Hotel.html
well that may knock into a cocked hat my theory about paris. or it may not. maybe that air crew may have had a chance to see or notice something. that someone else might not want the rest of us to know about. yes i do see conspiracies under every rock. but when people start killing each other, they usually do have some kind of an agenda. it could just be that everyone sees everyone else as their own 'devil'. i won't say that's not possible, but i remain somewhat skeptical of that the being the whole or most likely answer.
The gunmen said it was in retaliation for France's military campaign in Mali. They were just looking for French citizens of any kind.
i've found this out later. sorry for not having known about france participating with russia in bombing isis positions in seria. does make a reason for events in paris i had not been aware of, until i looked up what there was on this mali incident. (as i don't have a tv nor listen to radio, i only find out about things when someone mentions them somewhere on line and i look them up on youtube and elsewhere) also, for reasons unknown to me, youtube seems to block from the u.s., anything recent/current from b.b.c. news. (its only within the last couple of months i think that they've started doing this and i can only shake my head 'why?', though yes, i suppose it may have something to do with british copyright laws, but i suspect it has more to do with american politics)
