What if he was just one of the first on the evolutionary path towards taller, stronger, blonder vikings? Everyone was just so amazed he became a god to them.

    :D

Thor exists in all of us. Maybe not physically, but as a personal trait and characteristic of ourselves, Thor is a heavily influenced presence in our hearts. :)

And when the lightening cracks and the thunder roars, you can smile and know that physically, he's just wholloped down a giant with Mjölnir. ;)

  6. If we don't take some things on faith, then really, what are we left with? Not much. Yes, Thor existed.

    Of course.

Thor is mentioned by the Roman historian Tacitus in Germania, where he is equaled with Hercules. Both used an implement of pounding to smash their foes. Tacitus also mentions him as being worshiped in the Annals, written much later. He also appears in Bavaria under the name Donar, in Old English as Thunor, in Mainz as Thunaer, he appears in poems, on coins, rune stones, pendants, etc.

    Lots of sources.

I was going to name a dog Thor but the sheep of the world kinda ruined it for me, along with many other Norse names I'd grown up with that are now ruined thanks to Marvel Movies.

Atreyú works really well for my boy, though. Ain't another one like it. :)

Sure, Thor exists. Because he's a god, he's immortal, so to be able to travel among us mortals, he has to switch identities from time to time to remain inconspicuous. His current mortal disguise is that of the actor Chrish Hemsworth , and he's currently in agreement with Marvel films to do a series of autobiographical movies about his exploits as a god of Asgård.

Also, earlier this year Thor agreed to do a small cameo in a Swedish independent film called Kung Fury, where he used an older appearance as a disguise to hide his connections to the Hemsworth-identity so as to fool us mortals even further.

We are left with reality and some unanswered questions. Neither of those things bothers me.

I played Thor in a video game, so the concept exists which means he actually exists which means all the good, powerful things attributed to him are true and all the bad things are human misinterpretation.

Although logic is good, my views on Thor don't require it, these thoughts are usually transmitted by a magical osmosis when I am thinking of Thor.
