I could stand on my roof and throw a rock south, and it would land right smack in a welfare housing project place thing.. I could throw that rock north, and you'd be surrounded by 2-3 bedroom ex-WW2 housing owned by regular people who make median income or less. I could throw that rock east and be in the suburb with the same ex-ww2 housing that costs twice as much. If I throw it west, you land in regular city residential housing like bungalows built in the 20s and 30s

I can throw a rock east, north, south and west from my roof, and it will only wind up in the woods......and i won't cuz some small animal may be there that i don't see if i threw the rock and get hurt or worse....

when i was in college my neighborhood was kind of like that. not quite a literal stone's throw, but within maybe a half mile each direction you could reach the richest neighborhood in the city, one of the poorest, and a few various points in between.

yeah, someone get death a boomerang.

On Saturday night some guy from Ohio won the $200 million dollar mega millions jackpot – Don’t suppose you're trying to drop us a hint as you stand high upon the belvedere of your new palatial palace?

The startling thing is sometimes how much a neighbourhood changes. I lived in one spot when I lived in Toronto that was ok but nothing really special at the time. I went back a few years later and the change to the area was shocking. It had become so run down and it would then have not been a place that I would have wanted to live in.

Where I live now is suburbia and it is fairly consistent in looks and probably income.

Almost everything in and near my street is overpriced too because it's near the citycenter and there's a shortage of student housing. I could have something better for the same money but i just love the location (close to everything, old buildings, good atmosphere). Not bad people in my street either.
There are also neighboorhoods in my town that have more in common with east Dayton than my street :p

I don't know if you've ever seen pictures or video of Mumbai in India but it takes the concept to an extreme...
