I was @ salvation army today and a lady came in and told me and a staff member that she just lost her 16 year old grandaughter today!!!!!!

I guess something happend and her brain swelled up and she was then braindead,etc.......

Oh my.......... My heart went out to her..... I gave her a big hug and kiss and told her I was so sorry... (I hadnt ever seen her before, she must not come to S.A. very often)

When I was about to leave (After I paid for my record) I said goodbye to her and god bless..... I then had tears in my eyes and I cried while walking down the stairs.....

    16 years old???????

    THATS AWEFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I want to thank you for giving that lady a hug and showing her that compassion and support. You are a good person Dude!

We expect to have to bury a parent and maybe a sibling but we never expect to bury a child. It must be heartbreaking and I am not sure how you can come back from that, even with time. Not some where I want to ever have to go.

I would have been crying with you. Sad for sure. I am sure though that you sharing her burden was a comfort to her.

There can't be many things worse than outliving your children or grand children. That pain would never stop. Nice, dude.

16 is so damn young! It happens though, sad as it is, I believe in a kind of reincarnation. Kind of like our souls regenerate until we learn certain lessons, they will be back, to my thinking anyway.

My friend lost her teenage son this weekend. His funeral is tomorrow and it is going to be the saddest thing ever. So heartbreaking

There is apparently a measured ranking of life stressors, and death of a child is #1.

Yes, to loose a child would be unbelievably bad. It worries me a little, as I am suffering from a progressive disease which could see me dead before my old mother. Of course, I don't want her to go, but I am prepared for it (as much as you can be), and it would be more natural for me to outlive her. She is 80, I am 58. I think if I die first it will probably finish her off anyway, and it's a worry.

But that said, it wouldn't be as bad for her as if I'd died as a teenager (I came close on at least one occasion). And hopefully I'm good for at least a few more years.

You could try taking high dosage VIT-C daily and see if it gets better....

    I will say a prayer now :)
