    Why do you want to set a passcode so you can't get into your own system?

    or for folks who steal computers.
    But you do have to know what you are doing in the first place or you can fuck things up worse, so no, these programs are not for everyone.

    People who know what they're doing usually have a password they can recall in some way. If they can't they should write it down somewhere on a piece of paper (and store it in a secure place). Problem solved right?

    I casually read some of the source. Pretty interesting, I think I learned something.

    This program has to be ran externally, there's no way windows would let a userland program do what this program does. I think it's intended to be ran from a bootable USB flash drive running a small linux OS.

    It's open source, so there's nothing stopping someone from patching it to work on Win10 (if it was possible) .. though it looks like it's written and maintained by 1 person it is GPL licensed though :)

    what's the point of a password if it can be reset when you forget it lol ... i'd be in deep shit if I ever forgot the passwords for my pgp keys, there ain't no getting that shit back.
