Just like the title says, what are your latest finds?

I go to random thrift stores almost every chance I get and constantly find cool stuff. What are your most recently acquired material possesions that were purchased at a relatively decent discount rate?

(Please include pics when possible.) :)

eBay? :D I just received my two Bluetooth ear buds. They wrap around your neck. I like them, and the music control is fine just I tend to only wear my left so I can still hear and talk to people especially while riding, but this feels like it's going to fall down and pull that ear piece out all the time. I might need to see if I can stitch a shoulder thread into my riding clothes so I can look through and it won't fall down, or steal some bullclips from the newsagency. :D they're fine when both ear piece are in.

    Two for 11€.

    Love.. Love... Love tag busting!

I'm always on the lookout for antique clothing with lace, silk, satin, etc. I'd post pics but I always cut them up and repurpose the fabric to make hippie purses and scarves and skirts.

Buying new fabric is costly as hell for what I do. It's amazing the amount of fabric you can buy for a pittance when you shop this way at thrift stores. An old wedding dress might have a gazillion yards of lace and such for 5 to 10 bucks. And it's only been worn once! lol

I found a pair of Lucky jeans for $4 the other day. They run around $100 new. I bought those, another pair of jeans, a sweater and a really cute crop top, a pair of shoes, 4 shirts and 3 pairs of jeans for my son, and two shirts and a pair of khakis for my boyfriend. Also 2 framed paintings for the house. The entire haul was $50. I'm pretty addicted to thrifting. I get a sense that I'm on a super serious mission as soon as I walk in the store

I haven't been in a while. I do too much impulse buying and end up taking it back to the store as a donation in a few years.

I need to be looking for something specific if I go.

Woohoo! This thread's heating up :)

I never go to the thrift store with anything specific in mind. I just go in there browsing around 3 or 4, next thing I know, I've been in there for 2 1/2 hours! I missed a good deal a while back. They had an old Dell Windows XP laptop for $20 with all the cords and misc accessories. Would've been fun to tinker w that thing. They were selling for $100 or so on eBay. People really can make quite a bit just from shopping at thrift stores or on Craigslist and reselling at a higher price. Depends where you're displaying the item and who you know would want to buy it tho.

There's a Goodwill close to my new Dr's office, so I'll probably be filling this thread w posts pretty soon :D

Recently, I found 2 original Xbox controllers for $3 each, SimCity 4 Deluxe for $3, just found The Sims 3 Starter pack for $7, a brass belt buckle that says "I'd Rather Be Camping" (from the 80's w some nice artistic engraving), and 5 blue LED light-up bracelets with little lightning bolts on em that light up. They were only 50 cents a piece, so I figured I'd pass em out to my favorite Deadhead friends lol. Might be a nice conversation piece at festivals.

Oh and I bought a floppy disk for 50 cents too. I took back the floppy disk and one of the controllers tho because it didn't work very well and I've got a small pile of floppy disks already.

    Love the belt buckle.
I have a Rocky Mointain High buckle from the late 1970s that was a few dollars on eBay. I think I paid more to ship, maybe $5.

Recently, my boots self destructed during a long walk (boo) and I made the painful decision to go with a repairable replacement. Meaning leather.
I scored a care kit for $2 from a neighbor's yard sale. Then I got new, not just new to me, but new, I get to make the foot impressions new Timberland knee high boots. Original price, $200. Price with a small donation to Big Brothers Big Sisters, including shipping, $112.
    I stacked three discounts.

I've scored five wool t shirts, all new, for $100 total. They are usually about that each. ibex, icebreaker.
I'm moving to durable, so as my fast fashion gives out, and I do wear them to death through several repairs, I'm replacing with stuff that will last.

My other decent but not fabulous score was a late 1980s denim skirt, heavy denim, not what I'm finding new these days, no rips, tears or obvious wear, good length (I might hem it) $10.
Last fall, I snagged an LLBean flannel and a forest green sweater at Goodwill for $5 total.

My non clothing score was a 1999 Forester with <125k miles for $2000, in May. Under blue book, which estimates about 160k miles on the odometer. And, I bought it from the original owner and have all records on it. I think I would have paid about $2500 with anyone else.

I called that renting the items.
I do go with intent now.
It's rare that I'll just wander to wander.
I wait until I've a list, or if I just can't find something elsewhere.
And I bring a donation with me. One in, one out.

I am a big wanderer lol. Whatever catches my eye and looks useful or unique I usually nab. I'm taking a break from the local Goodwill. I've rummaged through things there like 3 days a week lately. Went to the one close to where the Ferguson riots were the other day. Everything was just thrown randomly on shelves, barely anything had a price tag on it, and I got screwed out of 40 cents.

A few days before that though, I spotted a Dell USB keyboard for $3, 2 original Xbox controllers $3 each (one I took back, wasn't in too good of shape), and a Jerry Garcia pin for $1.

My favourite thing in thrift stores is the jewellery! You can find lots of unique stuff and antique pieces really cheap. I haven't been thrifting lately, but I've been wearing this braided silver necklace a lot lately that I found at a value village for about 10$ once.

I love thrifting for books, most of it is usually romance novels and thrillers but there are usually at least a few hidden treasures. I found the complete works of Edgar Allen Poe not too long ago

I found the complete works of Edgar Allan poe a while ago too! I found it in a used bookstore. It was a bit more expensive than most other books there, since it looked very new and was bound in faux leather, with gilded edges on the pages. I don't remember what I paid for it though.

stop in at the garbage recycle place today and picked up a bissell cleaner with good hose and spray nozzle

been looking for one for a long time because my nozzle was broken up at the trigger and it drips ..the nozzles are no longer available from the company

it was a sweet deal for $3

it was missing the small car head but had the big one that i dont have so it worked out fine (the part i needed is in the handle not the head)

its one of these things...i use it mostly for cleaning car seats and carpet

I just bought 2 more pairs of pants. I seemed to be in dire need of pants that I can wear in colder weather. I'm sure I had some last year but who knows what happened to them. I bought a black pair I can wear to work and a tie dyed pair just for fun.
