When Trump first declared his candidacy it was a joke to us all, but now he's leading in all the Republican polls. Apparently Americans are fed up with politics as usual and are ready to jump on the bandwagon of someone who speaks plainly, even if it's plainly ridiculous.

This is getting scary. I think eventually his campaign will run out of steam and people will stop taking him seriously, but what would the future hold if he were elected? I seriously think this man could start World War III and go down in history as the American Hitler.

Trump's first order of business... Declare bankruptcy. Then say "I didn't do it".

I already dont give much of a shit about politics but Donald Trump really might break my dont give a shit meter. I just can't see myself ever caring about the state of American politics again if he is elected. 'murca, you did this to yourself. I'm out.

The media is just using him for headlines, and he's just using the media for his own ego gratification, while the public does their part by eating it up. The guy is a charlatan who speaks to what the average, ill-informed angry white guy wants to hear. Nuff said.

I can also see him suspending the Constitution and setting up a dictatorship, saying something like, "We don't have time for all this. We need to make a lot of changes, and make them quickly. Congress is a bunch of losers."

I agree. I don't think he will be elected president. People know better.

I don't believe we even have a say on who is elected President. I do not believe our votes count, I think that is a ruse to make people believe they have some power. I also do not think our President does anything, or has much power. It is all too convoluted, too bought, people with power and money run this country, no changing that IMO. Our President is nothing more than a figurehead.

That's a depressing thought...But not voting is telling the assholes to go ahead and run my country. That's why we have a republican congress. Last year only 20% of the electorate voted, and the majority were the assholes.

If the whole population would vote well informed they could make it count. But as it is now (i'm not an expert ;)) it often does look like this as well:

Even if the president DOES want to do things he can still be obstructed...

  14. Donald Trump is too fixated on being a big shot. He could easily flap his mouth at some meeting with a foreign leader and have all diplomatic relations with that country fall to pieces. He is an ignorant buffoon. America can't be run like a business. You can't fire anybody.

That he leads the Republican polls is truly terrifying. Maybe some Republicans do have a good sense of humor and are thumbing him up just because they want to scare the wits out of everybody. Half the population at least are stone cold zombie morons. Just digest that for a moment. Even if he isn't elected President, we are SCREWED. We're like that girl in Texas Chainsaw Massacre sitting at the dinner table with grandpa.

Our constitution is set up for the congress to have equal or greater power, except in military situations.

voting is telling the assholes to go ahead and run the country. not voting at least says that you're not buying into the whole bullshit election system that is designed to make people think they chose which assholes will run the country.

So let me get this straight, are you saying that you won't vote because you're smart and know what's going on, instead you'll let all those who believe the bullshit elect who they want..which would be the perpetrators of that very bullshit?

And then you will gain satisfaction from the fact that due partly to your refusal to buy into the bullshit and vote against the bullshit...the bullshit prevails?

well, no, i'm not saying any of that. i don't really know what's going on, just that it's not what is advertised. those who believe the bullshit won't elect who they want, and the perpetrators are probably not even on the ballot. i don't refuse to vote against the bullshit; there is no option to do so. except maybe not voting at all, although i know that won't stop it either. i don't see where i would gain any satisfaction from any of this. just an hour of free time on voting day. which i'll probably use to masturbate, so maybe i will gain a little satisfaction.

and what the hell happened to my name in your quote box? i might officially change my name to that.

I don't see your name in the quote box...I've been having problems accessing and posting here for about a month, I can't get to the "more reply options" post editor, etc. so I'm working around all the glitches only I seem to be having. I think it's a server problem..but I don't know. I'm going to try one more solution at the end of next week.

I agree with you we don't have any real choice the elite tell the media who to promote and the minions do as expected and vote for them.
