This has just been floating around in my head and I wonder what you guys think. Nothing serious, just a thought. And please add more if you wish! Why is life the way it is? Why do somethings exist? Why do things happen the way they do? Why do we have beliefs? Why do we have standards? What defines these things? We are we taught things, but why do we never question them. Why does science not have all the answers, what defines science, who came up with science? Why don't we question scientific theories? Why don't questions anything? Who's to say your 2 is 8, your blue is my purple, my boy is your girl, your up is my down, my east is your west, your happiness is my sadness. Why do people think a certain way? What causes them to think that way? Their emotions? what are emotions and why do we have them? I'm not looking for the answers that society has given to us, I want the deep answers, they why's behind the answers. Does this ever cross your mind?
People tend not to question things that come from places of authority. They've been conditioned that way. In a lot of ways science has taken over from religion as a new way of controlling the masses, since science can be just as dogmatic. There is big money behind many areas of science, so of course a big dose of skepticism needs to be applied there just as with everything else we are told to believe.
I'll attempt to respond to what I can, if my answers do not suffice default to Mattekat's response. Why is life the way it is? A vague question Why do somethings exist? Some things exist because we invented them, other things exist because they evolved, why there is somethings rather than nothing? Don't know. Why do things happen the way they do? Vague Why do we have beliefs? Probably for several different reasons, a sense of hope may be up there at the top. Why do we have standards? Being Social Beings, we hold the collective up to certain measures or standards, which may reflect in a personal microcosm in our own way(s) What defines these things? The things above? Morals, Laws, Ethics, We are we taught things, but why do we never question them. Why does science not have all the answers, what defines science, who came up with science? I cannot speak for many but I question things at times. Things I tend not to question, I find are out of utility or some cultural conditioning. Science cannot provide all the answers because a) the universe is friggin unimaginably large and small and b) Science works within known parameters. Why don't we question scientific theories? People do question scientific theories, even amongst the scientific community. Why don't questions anything? ? Who's to say your 2 is 8, your blue is my purple, my boy is your girl, your up is my down, my east is your west, your happiness is my sadness. Why do people think a certain way? How you phrased some of these comparisons is quite odd but I'll recommend you look up 'Qualia', you may find the concept interesting. What causes them to think that way?Their emotions? Emotions have a strong influence on our thoughts, some of those comparisons are quite evident however. what are emotions and why do we have them? Emotions serve many different functions, ranging from what food to eat, how to respond to particular events and finding a significant other. I'd say emotions are feelings that attached to concepts. I'm not looking for the answers that society has given to us, I want the deep answers, they why's behind the answers. Does this ever cross your mind? If some of these answers were like that of society, I apologize but as I said we are social beings.

We’re the universe made conscious trying to understand itself. It's a long and difficult process and we're going to make mistakes along way towards finding the truth of it all. Hotwater
You won't get any quick answers that are satisfying methinks. Many people spend a lifetime pondering such questions.
I guess I meant who actually questions them? Just scientist or the people who care about the topic? We learn these theories in school and a lot of us don't think twice about them
Ahhh, I see what this is all about. You don't need to beat around the 'bush' (no pun intended). The good folks here at Hip Forums will not judge you. But in the spirit of the thread, the answer to the question of why this and why that, is: Because no one can stop it.
Jeez dude, give it a fucking rest for once. everything isn't some conspiracy conceived and controlled by "them". Science needs a big dose of skepticism yet the crazy conspiratorial bullshit you believe without a shred of intelligible evidence for this history long, global conspiracy garbage as actually existing should just be accepted because it ISN'T sound, logical or scientific???????? man, something is definitely broken in your head
If the very system you believe to be real is conceived and controlled by them, then so is everything within that system. But I don't expect you or anyone else to believe this, nor am I concerned with what you or anyone else believes or doesn't believe. It is what I know, however, and every one of my views and opinions is based on that. I am not asking anyone to agree with me.
