What are your hard limits? A.k.a the places/conditions where you'd never dare to barefoot, no matter what.

Just got done with 3 miles of barefoot hiking. Mud, dirt, gravel, grass, all good for me.

I don't like small rocks and pebbles.

I haven't found much that I won't walk over anymore. Most of the pathways around here are covered in gravel or pebbles or sharp stones, so I have been forced to walk over all of it a lot and I am pretty used to it now. There are a few times where I will wince or walk very carefully because it's uncomfortable, but that doesn't happen that much anymore. I think maybe broken glass would be bad but that's more of a sharp limit than a hard one isn't it?

    1. Broken glass that will stick into the soles (when tweezers and even toenail clippers that push down more and allow more removal force won't remove it).
    2. Loose gravel that is also slippery to walk on.
    3. Almost needle sharp rocky gravel asphalt that makes me slow down more than just a little bit and still hurts with each step (even worse when it's hot)
    4. Asphalt that will blister an entire section of the foot and even progress to 3rd degree burns, instead of only making blisters no larger than a US quarter coin size on a part of the soles, or only on a couple of toe pads
    5. Cold weather below 40 degrees F.
    6. Spiked stemmed seed pods from trees that are on the sidewalks. Not so much that they hurt, but I don't like that they get stuck on the soles after being stepped on, when the initial poking into the soles no longer hurts.

    Gravel.... no problem
broken glass.... it has to be that one in a thousand perfect piece to stick me then just pull it out or the one in a million that takes a knife/needle to get out.
But there are these little star shaped thorn thingys that stop me in my tracks and have to pull 20-50 out before I can move.
