they do that. hot weather is not my favorite time of year. though i do wish it wouldn't keep storming on and off so much.
this seems to be one of those freque late winter years, on top of which the normally relatively dry great basin, seems to be getting the moisture that would normally fall west of the sierras and east of the rockies.
i live in north western nevada and we've had cloudy skies all month, and i've just heard in the last few days, they've has some flooding in parts of utah.

I assume you have an ice maker.. the ice maker has a heating element inside to free the ice. it then refreezes , leaving cubes stuck together.

that would certainly be a good tool to just leave in the ice box.

funny thing about freezers is they remove moisture, over time the cubes get smaller and smaller...

my Frigidaire had an icemaker. I removed that for space reasons. little blue trays are good enough for me.

its good to remember how lucky we are. when we are.
a refrigerator, and power to run it, and a place to live that has both,
i've not always had all of that myself.

I have a ice tray in my freezer and I turn the dial and something make the trays expand and then the ice falls out. =]

But I have to fill the tray back up. :d

where i live now, the freezer has an icemaker in it, i think this is the first place i've lived that has one of those. the people who used it all the time have mostly moved elsewhere. the ice that is.
they used the ice in their hookahs. me i don't smoke or drink alky. so once in a great while i'll put some ice in some water or fruit juice or something. its easier to reach in and grab a handfull out of the top of the tray, then the little lever where its supposed to come out with such force it scatters all over the floor if you do. and there's one next to it where cold water is supposed to come out, which it does, so slow, its just as easy to let the cold water run in the sink to get cold.

i know there's some kind of physics experiment you can do where you can actually make an ice cube suck. i forget how its done.
the way my mind works, i sort of thought this thread would be about something like that. of course i didn't really expect it to.

sounds like high humidity, leaving door open too much will do that. moisture in the air condenses on the cubes and fuses them together. pretty standard physics i think.
