Mud Room - Does Your Home Have One?

This is another thing that my home doesn't have. I want one.

Does your home have one?

 

what room? i have a toilet, if that's what you're asking.

 

Nope. The house I grew up in did.

They are great places for tripping over shoes, and footballs.

A mud room is like a little entry room to kick off dirty shoes, stow the dog leashes, hang the jackets, etc. It's a completely separate room though.

 

Yes.....to the side door that enters the kitchen is a little mud room entry way...which I put stone flooring in and then lanoleum on top of that to keep it protected...and one of the cat's litter boxes resides there....got a cat door for them to get in there any time in the door to the kitchen......

open to kitchen though because door was removed long ago it got in the way all the time...dont really need the inside door due to outside enclosed porch keep the weather out mostly

Not A Dedicated One As Such, But The House Has A Wrap Around Veranda And

At The Front Door There Is A Covered Area, I Think It's Called A Portico And The

Previous Owners Used To Hang Their Wet Coats And Boots There, Not Really

A Good Look At The Entrance To A House But GLEN Has Been Storing A

Lawnmower, Brushcutter, And Assorted Other Garden Tools There So

He Can't Really Talk....

Not an actual mud room Per Se, but my enclosed back porch is the perfect transition between the outside world and the living area where boots can be removed before muddying up my floors or ruining my carpets.

As for the front door, everyone is expected to wipe their shoes on the entrance mat

Yes... Between the garage and the hall to the kitchen.

A long time ago, according to the blueprints, it was a breezeway. When that area was enclosed they put up windows. Last summer I removed the windows and installed double doors. So now it's a proper mudroom.

 

There's not enough mud near where I live, tis all concrete.

 

Same here. We just have a rug at each door to put shoes on.

I live in a shoebox right now, so we have what is called a "closet" that we use for shoes and jackets. My fashion vests I hang in the closet in my bedroom, not in the closet with the jackets.

 

I would love a mud room but sadly I dont have one.
