My shoes are falling apart but I continue to wear them. The right one is held together with tape now, the left one will follow soon I guess.

    Anyone else?

    Hello,

I did this with my last purse. I think it accumulated six or eight staples over the years, but they prolonged the life time of the purse for at least five years ;).

    Regards

If I love something I wear constantly....I let it become holier and ragged....and wear it until it is impssible to wear anymore...i don't care about that....the raggy-i-der the better,. sometimes....
It is part of the I don't give a shit look.
    and plus comfortable...

haha im just plaaaaaayEN yeah ! totally wile ripping up the mean streets of downtown or climbing over fences to commence sneak attacks on whats left of evictions and repos - just playin bones with my bros - OR dragging my feet behind me wile Knee sliding from a failed attempt.. My shoes would become THRASHED from my bad skate habit. and id try hot glue gun, duct tape* shoe goo, stickers. anything that would temporarily allow me to go on another sick one and binge out for a few days like a true concrete fiend.

i'm bumified enough looking with my old winter coat. i don't need to do that. i do need to get a new pair of shoes and a new winter coat one of these days fairly soon.
its not that i couldn't easily enough afford to, its just one of those things, that's low on my list of things i remember to get around to.
but i will definately need to some time between now and next fall.

Not shoes but slippers held together with duct tape where they split on the sole.

One day soon I'll get a new pair.

I'll wear holey jeans and I have a raggedy old barn coat and some night gowns that are in horrible shape...but not shoes. Your feet are too important...I wear good shoes.

That's how it works for me too. Not with ALL my clothes but with my favourites certainly. If they would look horribly bad I do give a (little) shit... but they're not my favs for nothing. But some hoodies, or other sweaters, for example get really out of their original figure, lose elastics (sp) after time, etc. so yeah then it is time for those to get rid off.

My previous paid of shoes were held together partially with tape. The pair of shoes I have on now are getting that way, the toes are coming out, sole of the shoe is coming off and the sole of my feet are falling through. I paid $22 for them at Walmart, perhaps in 2012? They're the most comfortable paid of shoes I've ever owned and I plan to wear them until I can't anymore. I prefer it that way too, funds are always tight for me and the less I have to spend on random things, the better.

I know a guy who's black converse went green once - I think they were three years old. There wasn't any tape on them though.

My own shoes have gone from dark jeans blue to some faded gray... no tape either

A lot of my clothes are only a few steps from ragged. I don't like shopping and don't often have the money... but they are comfortable that way
