The prodigal son returns!! I wasn't expecting him home until tomorrow. The bad news? The bands actually lost about $14k in gear. The good news? My son didn't lose any gear at all. He initially thought one of his bass guitars was stolen. All of his gear was secure.

-6F degrees here and level one snow emergency because of ice and drifts on the roads. Grace got a short walk to take care of business then we went over to Dad's to check his mail and do a couple things. He is scheduled to go home from rehab on Wednesday if all goes well.

...I spotted a mysterious yeti type animal yesterday sleeping on my porch in the blizzard....he shook off and came inside and he was dry...it was amazing....he was out there for hours and he ust shook it off

 

Captain certainly is in his element. I forget how old he is. Is this his first winter?

captains birthday is march 22...he will be 1

 

I hate it when they whine at the door. Still makes me feel a bit guilty (for nothing).

 

im going to have to look at Reds records cause they are both close to the same day.

 

When it's cold, snowy, windy or rainy my dog goes out for exactly as long as it takes her to do her business...then she is ready to come back inside. You don't even need to leave the doorway. Sometimes her super thin tie-out cable gets stuck on a piece of snow or ice and she's too small to pull it free so we have to go out and get her. Seriously, a small ridge of snow that you could casually flick away with your finger is enough for her to get stuck.


Edit to say....at our normal house, the yard is fenced in so she can just run out with no cable but then sometimes she gets out in the snow and thinks she can't make it back so we have to go get her.

 

right now my temperature thing says its 19.5c inside and -19.5c outside

the outside one is never accurate though because the sensor is too close to the door and the eaves it picks up some of the house heat
