Okay so the question I have here is did I blow a golden opportunity to get laid? first off you should know that I am 22 and still a virgin. It's not that I necessarily choose to be a virgin, I think it's a combination of lack of confidence and possibly self-esteem to try and make any sexual advances. So, my friend who is attractive by the way sends me a text saying "Question for research. Would you have sex with me if the opportunity arose." I quickly paused to think about this and process this as it caught me off guard, I thought I was facing to situations here. The first being her actually trying to make a sexual advance, and the second her just actually asking people if they would have sex with her for some hidden reason of hers. Both seemed like logical explanations and seemed to fit into the context of who she is. I sent her a reply back saying "Lol! Fascinating research. No, only because of our blood relationship," (inside thing, not actually blood related) she returned a reply saying "I knew I could count on you!!!!" It was kind of a half truth to be 100% honest, if I had gotten the chance to change my answer I would have thought on it a bit more but it was very ambiguous. What is your take on this situation? I think I blew it to be honest, I don't see what other motive would have compelled her to ask. Thanks for reading this all the way through if you are still here at this point as well as your advice and thoughts.

You could of just sent one back saying "just kidding, of course I would".

Sounds like she wants to have sex with you but doesn't want to straight out ask and be rejected.

yeah, she may or may not have been serious, but if she was you definitely just barged into the friend zone with that response.

Tell her "No, not if it was just an opportunity to have sex; but I'd sure like to take you out sometime if you'd like that."

    Quite a few possibilities:

    1. She actually wants to fuck you, and said fuck it and asked and doesn't care about your answer, so long as you say yes.
    2. She wants to fuck you, depending on your answer. If you responded with a desperate 'Oh yes! Yes please!' You kill those vagina tingles. If you responded with 'Maybe, depending on how my other girls feel about it' you might send those gina tingles through the roof and quickly find yourself sweaty and lying in bed next to her.
    3. She doesn't want to fuck you, and is merely trying to boost her ego enough to go tell that guy with a six pack she met at the gym, that she wants his cock up her ass.

Her reply could merely to be save face anyway.

In this day and age of complex STDs, I fully understand why someone might still be a "virgin" (a stupid social construct in the first place that causes more grief than it's worth) into their 20s. I remember the days before Aids when the worst of the worst of VD was to get herpes since there was no cure. But even herpes was not a death sentence. And while there have been advancements and many lives saved, staying alive with HIV means spending a lot of money. No money means you die sooner. Obamacare did not change that simple fact.

One bit of advice I might suggest is finding a way to gain some experience before you try to use sex as a courting ritual. Unless you happen to be with another 1st timer, she may be very put off by your lack of ability and the likelihood that you don't last more than 3 strokes once you do figure out how to make it in. I suggest renting a professional escort, they'll likely give you a discount since you won't be wasting more than 11 minutes into an hour. So you know, porno is a very poor substitute for sexual experience. It takes hours, sometimes days to shoot (pun) an hour long porn flick.

Once you have had sex a few times, you will understand the buying signals a LOT more readily. That's the advice from a guy who used disco to get laid, often! But I didn't find the right woman until almost 20 years later.

First off: I have never received a survey question asking if I'd be interested in sex? So that mucks it all up. So she (and possibly you?) were being totally manipulative from the start?

I can remember being 18-21, and even then I would have said: WTF? Yeah, I ended up in a lot of messy sexual relationships I now regret during my youth. But there are red flags big time. Survey is one. I'm curious why you are so haunted by this experience? Your instincts told you what to do, and you acted accordingly. I think you made the right choice. Sleep easy, dude. *Pat on the Back* :)

The funniest answer would be "no bitch, you're in the friend zone!"
