If he gets the nomination, he probably will win. There's a pattern in the elections where a candidate from one party serves as president, then the other, than the other. Democrat, Republican, Democrat, Republican. Off the top of my head, I can only think of one exception, which is Regan and then Bush Sr, who were from the same party and served back to back.
