Lemons

Are probably my all time favorite fruit. I just love the citrus. Anyone else?

Lemon on fish is nice.

 

Lemon juice and sugar on pancakes on Shrove Tuesday. yum.
Same for oranges.

I'm also drinking pink grapefruit juice with half water at the moment when I get in from work,
which is very refreshing.

 

I like the juice on other stuff but I don't really like the piece of fruit on itself as much as a mandarine for example. I like a good apple, pear or orange too but I guess the mandarine is my favourite. It's always easier to peel than an orange too.

when my wife was alive and we were renting a whole house to ourselves, there was a lemon bush in our yard. free lemons all the time. they ripened at odd seasons, but it really produced a ton of them.

 

Far from my favorite but its great on shrimp and there’s nothing quite like Lemon Chiffon Cake and Lemon Meringue Pie

I like my lemonade without lemons. Just the clear fizzy is the best.

 

Lemons are insensate and rather dense entities,although having the quality of selflessness common to all vegetables and fruits practice a selfless service to mankind in their ever present superabundance and willingness to be selflessly squeezed for our taste pleasure.They are a miraculous and blessed gift from our creator if you are of a religious mind,whereas if you are atheist they would seem to represent nothing more than a randomly occurring and negligible product of meaninglessness happenstance of no particular significance,just another fortuitous object of use among all the other items of convenience to be consumed without due reverence.To me they are a microcosm of the miracle of a fortuitous and blessed cosmic serendipity that ceaselessly vibrates in harmony with the ever abiding tao,that cannot but withdrawn at times into calamitous catastrophe as it endlessly provides,without inherent morality but also without personal malice.It would be an insult not to enjoy the fruits of the world,just as we should seek to provide for those without our bounty.But maybe we should seek to be more like the lemon,whose sustenance is meagre,takes little and brings refreshing taste to the world.

As far as fruit goes, how do lemons beat strawberries?

 

well... I don't see many strawberryade on the shelves at the filling station.

You couldn't have the legendary Blob without the humble lemon so it gets my vote ( in fact its snowy and cold here so I am going to make one now !! )
