i really wish people would stop saying "religion" when they really mean 'christianity' or even 'christianity, judaism and islam'.

there are a whole and wonderful spectrum of far more reasonable and sensible beliefs, which have done nothing to be tarred with the same brush.

they may still be just as much fantasies, or they might not, the may be just as susceptible to being abused in similar ways (though by comparison they ever so very seldom are), but they still in no way deserve to be tarred with the same brush. nor to be so completely ignored by those to blind or laze to even bother to look, beyond what they are familiar with.

just as there is no reason to assume, that if there is one god, or many, that they are to blame for any word spoken or believed about them.

I wish people would just stop making religious threads.

How many times can you guys have the same argument expressed in different words?

    It's whack.

I can probably make my same argument indefinitely. I express it in different words to collect understanding from different backgrounds.
Your wish that people would stop is whack

Where did you get your sense of right and wrong from? Is the guide you reflect upon in your inner voice, your guide or the one your parents taught you?

I see nothing wrong with using a cumulative term "religion" when discussing the few major Monotheistic Western religions, perhaps even solely for the preeminent religion of the culture, depending on the topic. These religions are usually the ones in which directly effect the person talking.

Your argument is akin to saying "I think people should stop saying racism, when they strictly mean white and black racial tensions. There is a whole history of _________ and _________ (insert other racial groups) race relations which are not tarred with the same brush."

the observation of what causes more and less harm and researching how to avoid doing so. that is the only basis of morality. there is no other.
belief may otherwise be fine. but it cannot replace do so. nor remove the moral responsibility to do so.
