Ever think it is because of the entertainment industry? Violence in just about all the movies and video games, so realistic, makes a person see an opposing human as a target.

They used to have the draft, dont need it no more. Volunteering in droves. Indocrinated since the firs y day of school with the pledge of allegiance

ever think it might be because of national pride, fighting for our rights and the safety and freedom of our families, friends and fellow human beings?

a lot of my family has been in the military. not me tho, it's not for me.

i had a friend who fought in iraq. he came back and would tell stories about people he killed over there and kinda smiled as he talked about it.

u think people in wars are thinking about movies and video games, or protecting what they believe in?

i suspect there's lots of reasons. seems like the most common reason is the fact that the military is the job with the best pay and benefits that is available to low IQ people who don't have the connections to get them into a union factory or something.

No, it has more to do with the fact that the armed services seems better than getting a regular job at the time.

It provides them with shelter, food, money. They later learn it also provides responsibility, the formulation of structure and maturity, as well as a good education should they decide to go that route.

No. But it has helped condition their mind to the idea of killing

Isn't that compromising your values for a job that provides all these things?

They have no problem because they are taught the way to defend yourself is to hit.
    Shame on us.

Or, people don't share your values.

And its true. At one time in my life i could have easily killed someone in a war situation, i was in the military for 7 years, over time and even when i was in, i questioned myself of why i was doing what i was doing ans start to begin thinking it was wrong. Fighting for a government that lies and mistreats people and misappropriates taxes. You say its for freedoms, we are not free, we are slaves to the state and yet it so pervasive, we think we are free.
Digging a ditch or cleaning a toilet is more honorable than killing a person of another country for benifits and housing and food and doing it for a government that uses people as tools for hidden agendas
