dont like walkin into a locked thread

fighting with healthcare. would rather they took a chunk of our income tax. wouldnt need to be a big amount, it would be spread amongst all of us. id pay 100 a year, maybe 150 if its a preggo year. 50 a piece for kids. the coffers would overflow. just little ol' me's opinion though.

edit to add: apparently they finally agree that we qualify for medicaid. that is going to be remarkably helpful. seriously. we are living on about 30K before taxes, of course we qualify, and i havent worked in almost 9 years. but hubby talked to a real human who helped him do the application online, and ta-freaking-da. healthcare. i will gladly pay taxes to medicaid. it could cover damn near everybody, for really cheap, if they had expanded it to do so.

Even our right-wingers won't think about touching out health care system in any major way. It would lead to an instant election loss. They try to chip away at it by privatizing non-medical services and building P3 hospitals, but they would never outright say that universal health care is not a great thing.

 

Gas is down close to $1/ Litre. It was over $1.30 in the summer.

This is good - the lower it goes, the less profitable the tar sands become, and the less of an argument they have to put a fucking pipeline through our source of drinking water.

did you see the crap that got added to the latest "must-pass" bill? apparently the rich still cant give enough of their money to line the pockets of our politicians. better loosen their non-restrictions. ugh. how hard is it to make a budget bill just about the budget? if your bill/wants/earmarks dont pass muster on their own, maybe, just fucking maybe they shouldnt be passed.
