so, some guy named joshua said god said that, but who the hell told him?

i simply take no book as the word of any god, however well intended or otherwise, its actual authors may or may not have actually been.

what if the real god, actually is love, and all the books and churches are just full of bull shit about it?

We can just as easily turn it around of course, and say the one who insists god(s) are merely angry, demanding control freaks are the ones displaying selective ignorance. Especially when they also claim to not even believe in any god :D How pointless would all their threads on the subject be (unless of course they secretly hope to be proven wrong? :))

The proof is in the pudding.
If you happen to believe in God, look at the world and creatures he made.

I know God is nothing but an egotistical fantasy that humans have invented over again thousands of times.
Almost all of them are egomaniacs who just love love love,
    war and blood.

Theologians are going to ague that Psalm 137:9 is justifiable as revenge toward Babylonians but it doesn't say "avenged will be the ones..." or "Justified will be the ones...". It says specifically BLESSED will be the ones who dash babies heads against rocks. That specific act will bring a holy reward.

Clearly the bible is not divine word of God.
It is a set of instructions for survival and waging war for primitive sand people, thirsty for blood and hungry for resources. If you're killing off a village of all adults you don't need the burden of caring for their children. Wasting resources for their offspring and bloodline does not align with the brutal nature of survival of the fittest.

So many things have been projected onto the concept of God by different people, this is proof of god not being love how?

What is this? Some kind of atheist prophecy? :p

So what? How many people are acting upon that sentence in order to claim that holy reward? Most christians seem to realize that is just an old quote written many centuries ago. Seems you would like god and religion to be evil just so you can laugh satisfied and say yay I was right. But you aren't since that quote is just a line in an old collection of books and regarded as such by the people you claim to be clueless dogmatic sheep. Can we all just laugh at you now :D

Ok, I'll play along. And then? They will be shocked? What are you saying here? Maybe you should look at the world and see how many people are crushing baby skulls and with what motivation :p

If God is more than an egotistical fantasy and coping mechanism for war mongering sand people then........

Give me something that makes more sense!

Ah is this just another thread asking for proof about god again? I'm not sure why you made a new one just for that. Is it because your other threads are usually ruined for you by too sensible replies? Just guessing :p All your threads in this subforum are about the same thing and could fit into one topic. Hey, you don't have to accept God is good/love if you don't wanna. What doesn't make sense about assuming that the creating force that gave us this experience that comes with highs and lows and the chance to gain understanding and receive and give out love is good/love/loving Itself instead of hateful and convicting. Why is the latter more likely to you? Because life isn't endless perhaps or because we can get cancer or break a leg? Or because your fellow humans inflict pain on eachother?
Maybe you would say the old testament is proof of God being evil? But you recognize yourself that those are the writings of people centuries ago thinking with the same urges as you and me (trying to make sense of what he sees and thinks by going at what he knows, and he most likely knew less with certainty about the universe and its 'laws' than us), so that can't be convincing proof for people like us that God is something in particular or even is real at all. Even though that is enough for you to conclude God isn't real though, why insist he has to be evil and not good?

God doesn't get to be good just because I want him to. God is whatever billions of individual be-lie-vers want him to be in this world... and what kind of world is this; brutal, diseased, immeasurable suffering... a world dominated by survival of the fittest not nicest.

God is the collective superego of man.
The proof of his nature lies in his dirty blood pudding.
BILLIONS believe this Yawheh to be the literal and actual creator of their miserable world and millions have died because of it. It is not a fact to be swept aside and dismissed and pretend God is love... These are the roots of your God be-lie-fs.

And it will be ridiculed for its absurdities.

Ridiculing is actually the only thing you do. Do you realize that when christians were in charge and ridiculing other perspectives and calling them false and convict people because of their perspective they mainly did it because it was the consensus of the day? And how close you come in doing and being the same asshole in that regard? How enlightened we all became :p

God doesn't get to be good because you want him to but he gets to be evil because you don't believe in gods.... You are mad at and in conflict with reality and your fellow humans because not everyone believes the same as you in this regard. Be-lie-vers... what a clever play on words. Too bad it doesn't mean shit.

Just because you can imagine a better world this world is miserable and completely sucks? Really? It is most likely the only world you will experience. You really think it is most worthwile to shit on reality and be anger at it because nature is the way it is? Is our society based solely on the fittest of the fittest principle? Don't we live in a society that tries to make things fair and nice for others? How is the world diseased? It is thriving at the same time. Maybe not if you are a dodo but you get the point. Your perspective is so negative you seem to have lost any objectivity for sure.

The world doesn't get better by insisting the creating force is evil. It doesn't get less mortal either just because you might like it to be or can imagine immortality. What does this means?
God doesn't get to be evil just because that's the only way you can imagine a god. Someone elses God doesn't get to be this or that because ten other people claim their God is the opposite.

OK, lets look at this objectively.
I can see only 3 possibilities, but please let me know if my logic is wrong here:

    1- There is no God.
2- There is a God but he's limited and can't achieve what he wants.
3- There is a God and he's perfect, what God wants, God gets.

    So what is it?
Is this the world that God wants?
Can God not live up to our expectations?
Or is God just an egotistical fantasy inside the heads of man?

So what is it? I don't know but personally am inclined to believe 3. Not because I want to by the way. Perfect is kind of a tricky word of course. I don't know what you regard a perfect god. Or that what I find perfect is what God is. But yes, there could be a God and if it wants something (big IF in my book) God could make it so.

Is this the world that god wants? I do not know, maybe we are or our universe is some kind of rash between His (abstract of course) toes. Maybe God wants several universes? Maybe everything is still in development?

Can God not live up to our expectations? Why in earth should or would God live up to all our different expectations? To convince us of It's existence? I don't think that's how it works.

Or is God just an egostistical fantasy inside the heads of men? Also. Just like peace or a world that is better than this one for example.

These are my sincere and objective answers for now. Why don't you give it a try and answer them yourself without any anger or crazy convictions? Just sincere. Sure you don't believe in a god, but if there's one wouldn't you also have to answer some of those questions with I don't know if you were honest.

I honestly think there is no real God by more than 99.999999999% probability. Meaning that I think any God is beyond any reasonable likelihood and a perfect God would be the least likely of all things.

An honest look at the world and known universe tells us there is no perfection to be found anywhere. Nature and the evolution of complexity absolutely depend on imperfection. We need to understand human nature as much as anything else to move forward and make a better world. The vast majority need to understand that these are not divine writings. These old books are really little more than guides to war mongering for primitive sand people. The human race can not move on believing in superstitious nonsense. Humanity needs to understand how God was invented to represent our ego's and religion for coping with our hardships.

So the lack of perfection in reality/this world and our ability to imagine perfection is proof that there isn't a god? Look, nobody is arguing with you how religions and god concepts came to be. Many people understand where the need to invent both comes from. Does this mean they are all bogus and needless now? To you maybe (not really, you just reached the conclusion you do not find it plausible enough to consciously believe in, which is something else than lost all need for it as we can see from all your threads on the subject).
So you don't believe in a god and you can determine that people's faith or comfort in something can lead to horrible actions. But at the same time I reckon you can acknowledge that people's faith in any thing and whatever comfort they have (luxury, religious or otherwise) can lead to similar horrible actions (or lack of actions). So this is why it is doubtful why you have such a problem with religious faith and how evil god has to be for giving people the comfort of forgiving their sins for example and focus on religion and faith as the problem, while the atrocious mindsets, lack of empathy and convicting attitudes are clearly present in all kinds of people, theist or not.

then one holds the cup of sorrows . logically there is a short list
of things to do with it .

    1. drink it
    2. spill it
    3. give it to Jesus
4 . give it to me

spilling it is the worst choice . nothing on that spot of land will ever grow again . if you drink it or give
it to me one of us gets a belly-ache , which is somehat less nasty than destroying the earth .

    A contextually consistent story,

Love is what you are. Alive and loving being.

You are created in the likeness and image of your creator, you look like your parents.

You create in your own likeness and image,

those things you appreciate/depreciate and those things you imagine to be or could be and you love your creations willing to uphold them in all climes.

Love creates like itself, the creator is love.

Reality supports it's constituents in every instance,

    In a loving world.

You fail to comprehend that it is perfection at it's quintessential best.
Just because it does not agree with your very limited and naive' (as are all humans in this regard) view and perceptions, well that just illustrates your failings and lack of comprehension of the gestalt.

honestly, judging the perfection or imperfection of the universe from your very myopic, egocentric, and anthropomorphic vantage point is absolutely hilarious. LOL
