So I needed a new waterpipe yesterday and was a bit overwhelmed with the selection the store had. Usually he's just glass bongs, traditional looking but now it's weird spirals and 3 chambers. Some necks have gel in them, some are really thin and look like science lab beakers... But what do they do? I read that THC is burned off in about 3 seconds and you'll want as much as you can in your system by 3 secs. So I went a smaller bong than usual, well actually I bought two and used my smaller one. My high was pretty decent, mind you I'd been off for close to 48hrs so tolerence probably helped a touch but hen I've gone 3 days and felt not much difference. But if the 3 second rule is true, what are the fancy ones used for? =\ Gel in the neck I was told you can put it in the fridge, gel cools and cools the smoke a touch in the neck. Lol, hasn't anyone heard of cold water and ice cubes? It seems silly, but the weird shaped pipes... Can you get better highs with them? Is the 3 seconds bullshit. I confess.. Long time smoker, completely no idea what to do I just always did what worked. XD
I'd suggest a single perc bong with a diffused downstem. It's nice level of cleanability and ease of filling/etc, with good filtration, but not wasteful overkill filtration. Don't worry yourself about any 3 second rule - 3 seconds to 90% absorbtion in your lungs, is the only 3 second I know. A crazy amount of time will make chemicals condense out, but you generally don't need to worry about it. Glycerin coil type bongs should hold a lot more cool a lot longer than ice - but if you want ice, just get something with ice pinches. If you don't have a bong of this type at all, you should shoot for a good easy hitting daily - middle of the road in complexity and price and size and everything else. I'd get a perc before a glycerin coil.
This is what I use, just without the second chamber. I used to use a second chamber but it became a pain in the arse to clean. Just like, wtf is this meant to do? XD
The extra chambers should in theory give a cleaner hit. But personally I have never messed with the really expensive bongs with all that extra in it. I have also never noticed much of a difference smoking from them.I would rather have a decent bong and more money for weed to put in it and either way I get stoned.
